Well, what of it?

Calling it the "War on Xmas" doesn't make much sense. I don't know that many Atheists have a problem with Malcolm X. I think they tend to focus more on taking Christ out of it.

The term is "War on Christmas". It's kind of the whole point of the "war".

I read a story that a salvation army bell ringer said happy holidays to a donor and some dumb bitch threw a punch at her over that.
A few days later coming out of a store I gave to a a salvation army bell ringer who said merry Xmas followed by happy holidays.
Good thing too as I would have laid her out.
That pic looks old school Pappa Bear

I still don't understand the problem with "Happy Holidays". I'm 47, and I've heard it all my life. Though my family is Christian, religion was never talked about very much. As a kid, I always thought "Happy Holidays" was a way of covering the fact that there was more than one holiday near the end of the year. It was an all encompassing greeting/wish that you would use.
I don't really know if some Christians started getting upset about "Happy Holidays" recently, or if it's been a long term complaint. Maybe it's always been there, but it's more noticeable now that everyone can complain about stuff, and actually be noticed. This past year was the first time I noticed people bitching about people saying "Happy July 4th", instead of "Independence Day" What the fuck? They've always been interchangeable, in my mind.
I will admit, I have a few friends who are openly anti religion, as opposed to just being atheists. But I think some of them only "preach" atheism ironically. The rest are people who really do latch on to some sort of belief system, but won't admit it.

So did I. It's just a fox news thing.

I grew up with a lot of Jewish kids so it seemed odd to say "Merry Christmas" around them. And living down here with a lot of Buddhists and Muslims it makes even more sense. I think it's a benign yet all-encompassing term. I say "Merry Christmas" to people I know are Christian and "Happy Holidays" if I'm not sure.

I was raised celebrating Three Kings Day (January 6 aka the 12th day of Christmas) in addition to Christmas. We would set out a bit of hay and water for the camels and some food and drink for the Reyes Magos, who each brought us a gift as they did the baby Jesus. This was the traditional gift giving day in PR before Christmas was imported there. This is not to say Christmas wasnt important. They celebrate Noche Buena (Christmas Eve aka the Good Night), but that was more centered around the birth of Christ as opposed to getting gifts.
It is only natural for me to say Happy Holidays, as it was always more than just Christmas for me.

Making a PBR Festivus Pole
I think this is fun as it is something different and takes after a thing from a popular TV sitcom. There are some political / religious rumblings springing up around this that I won't even bother bringing up.

A lot of Latinos I know down here make a bigger deal out of Christmas Eve than Christmas Day. They do some big feast at midnight. I think that's more fun actually.

Yup. Its a celebration of the birth of Christ but also a great reason to eat some awesome food (hooray lechon!), drink a lot(woo-hoo coquito!), and do parrandas (my favorite part). People just come to your house unannounced and play awesome traditional music deep into the night. All you have to do is feed them. You can join in with anything. We have drums and tamborines at home, but you can get a pot or pan and use a spoon to play along. its awesome.
I'm calling the cops. :devil2:
