Very nice! In the summer, I have permanent flip-flops, but it fades in the winter. Granted, I have very little melanin in my skin, but I work with what I have.

It is bad. I got just a shin sunburn once on the beach. I had my feet buried in the sand, and was wearing shorts, so just my shins got blistered. Not cool. Whenever I wore pants, it felt like I could bake biscuits on my shins.

Yeah I only expose my feet in the house. Thats what makes it so bad, I'm always initally confused why my fucking feet hurt. Then I remember I was working outside in flip flops for soem reason.

It's the difference between criticism and harassment. They're mixing a bunch of different issues here. This is really about the blurred line between public and private rights on the internet.
When you go on Yelp as a business or a user you're entering the public domain, in my mind. And taking away that anonymity isn't the same as saying that someone cant anonymously blog post about the oppressive religious regime or law enforcement in their town.

it wasn't clear to me and I may have been the main one here that accused OnA of playing the Howard Stern card on Shelby...but I acknowledged that
however, those on OnA behave like Howard Stern-esque prima donnas...like when they attacked an intern when she dared to say she wouldn't date them because they were older (Anthony and Jimmy, men older than her father)
so, I have a hard time apologizing for mistaking Ron's "over protective" actions for those that behave just like Howard Stern...the king of all prima donnas

I understand that Ron is the alpha.
I understand that every team needs a captain.
Having said that; I would really like to see somebody on the show that sees themself as Ron's equal. Somebody that would not wait for Ron to "let" them bring up a topic. Somebody that would go to the phones. Somebody that would also drive the bus.
Kinda like it was for Adam Carolla & Dr. Drew.
I think Susie Essman would such a person. Perhaps Florentine too. And Jeff Garlin.

the only thing that has kept the ship from sinking completely so far has been "the captain". He has done 97% of the work for years now, but yeah, what the show needs now is somebody to humble him. Ridiculous take.

01-10-2014, 09:08 PM
Let me rephrase;
I wasn't implying that I would like to see somebody HUMBLE Ron. Or even "stand up" to him.
What I would like to see is a situation where somebody is playing on the same level (in every way) that he is on.
I love when Ron is on O&A. It isn't his show, but they treat him as an equal.... and I think it works really well. When he's there, they question him.... they make him explain himself.... they talk about what THEY wanna talk about.
Ron is as good a guest as he is a host.
If he had somebody in there with him that was not at all intimidated -and that was also a commanding presence- I think it would bring out the best in him.

deliciousV
01-11-2014, 07:47 AM
Yeah, I thought it was weird he read that as wanting to humble Ron.
Ok, humble was the wrong word and concept. But even in the examples he gave, one person is driving the show, The Dr. Drew and Adam Carolla show was driven by Dr. Drew, he let Adam talk as much as he wanted, but he moved the show along and decided when a call was over, on O&A Opie runs things, when he's not there Ant and Jimmy will sit and beat a dead horse for 3 hours because nobody can move them along.
I read "humble" into the original post because people in the listening thread have said, on more than one occasion, that they wished somebody would stand up to Ron, I guess the Fezident premise put me in that mindset. I've never understood what that would help?
More than one person deciding which calls to take, or what subject to talk about, or when to change subjects sounds like a cluster fuck.
