Wouldnt it be stupid to keep someone like Fallon who is super successful and ready to take the show on the back burner to let Leno go until he retires? You risk Fallon jumping to another platform and then when Leno retires you have no one who is ready to take his place. Plus they'd probably rather sell ads with the audience they think Fallon can get instead of the audience that Leno gets.

I got into the habit of watching Carson and Letterman while in college...it was such a habit that I continued watching both shows for years while working full-time and attending grad school at nights

I don't know how I did with so little sleep in those years, but I remember it not being a question of whether I'd watch or not...probably one of my more OCD periods of my life
