A lot of people have commented that different stories on Ron and Fez are nothing but a "Work." In poker, there's such a thing as a "Tell": "A change in a player's behavior or demeanor that is claimed by some to give clues to that player's assessment of their hand."

Are there any on-air "Tells" by Ron, Fez, or Pepper that you've noticed that make you think that something they're talking about is a "Work"?

I know the Tell. The Tell is: they're talking. It's all works and bits.

That will become obvious in April when Fez is still employed.

I wish I could tell the difference. It's difficult to really get into the show when you have to be afraid of being a rube when you express concern for one of the fellas. I'm hoping it's like Midkiff said, it's all a work, and Fezzie's not completely insane.

I think they have more tells for when they're doing a 'shoot.'

If you listen to every 16th word that follows the term "cedar post", you can eventually piece together the day they will admit that the ESD/Casey wedding was a work.

Why don't you just watch Oprah, then? She seems pretty sincere.

I hear there has been much chaos in that casey/silera world. Sad stuff too.

Truly sad to hear such personal shit in public and tied to someone long after they left us over something so catty. Sad.

I am aware of a few of their individual tells, but I couldn't tell you what the SHOW tells are.

Fez has a tell that's somewhat difficult to type out but, ...
okay...
When Fez knows he's wrong but he (attempts to) stand his ground... he will say "yeah" when he's asked a question. But he doesn't say the whole word. He leaves out the "y" sound at the beginning. It's like he only says the 2nd half of the word "yeah". "eah". It's very short. It's the bare minimum of the word. When you hear "eah" out of Fez... it means he knows he's wrong, but he's still gonna dig in.

Also... when Fez knows he's wrong and Ron is badgering him, he always gives away a little bit of whatever power he has, by diluting his comments with lots of additional words.
For example, when asked "will you ever apologize to Vito?"
Fez WANTS to say "no."
But he doesn't say "no". He says "I would have to say... I have no interest in apologizing to Vito."
When you hear that kind of soft, non-committal, language, you can expect the apology within one or two minutes. It's Fezzie's way of NOT backing himself to far into a corner. He knows it.

Finally...
here's a very rudimentary move of Fezzie's. Children do this one all the time.
When Fez is up against the ropes for screwing something up, rather than own it... he will take the conversation to more dire place.
EXAMPLE:
Fez doesn't do something that was expected of him, and then Ron and the callers really get on his case about it... Fez will eventually respond with; "I know! I get it! I'm the worst person in the world! I'm the absolute worst! I get it!"
This, of course, is met with Ron's reply of "no.... no you're not buddy. you're not the worst. Don't say that...."
Which is, of course, what Fez wants.
He has created a situation where Ron is now complimenting him. No more bashing... just love. All is well.

This was never more clear than yesterday, when Fez got caught lying about the matches. He steered the conversation toward "people want me dead. people won't be happy until I'm dead."
Which immediately derailed the conversation.
This backfired slightly on him, and Ron sort of treated it like a real (suicide?) threat. Ron squashed it right there & then.
As a result... Fez (obviously) stepped out of the studio.

Either way... it was "mission accomplished" for Fez. We weren't talking about the big lie anymore. We moved on.

Ron has a bunch of tells too.
He's very strategic with his. But he has a bunch for sure. I think I know them all.

And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out, what's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar

Probably one of my biggest character flaws is I really like gossip but then a competing character flaw is I'm terrible at gathering gossip.

No, I'm sure everyone agrees - Oprah is quite sincere. I would never be ironic about Oprah's sincerity.
