I don't think the contract negotiation is fake. I mean... eventually he'd have to resign a contract when the old one ran it's course.
So... it's perfectly plausible that there was always a negotiation scheduled for April. The "bit" is that they're talking about it on the air, as if now it's "D day!"... But... his performance would've been reviewed (behind closed doors) anyway.

I agree. Now that the guests are more of a "round table" rather than an interview, I've been enjoying the show a lot more. I hear Fezzie laughing more, and it's great to have them all in the conversation together.
