Where's Fez? *Speculation Thread*

What is going on with Fez? He wasn't there most of last week was he?

The short story is that he is on hiatus pending the completion of his new contract or his outright release.

According to Ron, there will be an announcement on Monday.

It could go on of several directions. Here are my thoughts:

1) He is going into treatment for an indefinite period before his contract renegotiation continues.

2) He has either been outright fired or offered a contract he is not willing to accept. He is done.

3) The new contract with SiriusXM puts him on a different show on a different channel (probably Out Q).

4) Fez is back. False alarm.

No job = no insurance so he's not in treatment. Hell, it's impossible to get indefinite treatment with insurance.

I think it's scheduled time off, Ron wouldn't dick around about it if Fez was gone or in danger of being gone.

Yah, way too much fez hate here for years, but i have yet to see one short term dis followed up by years of employment and recovery. It seems the last dirch effort to hang on and draw it out longer in all fields.

Audible listener here, so forgive me if this is old news, or already covered in a listening thread somewhere....

I know "Lenny" was a reg here, and the other board for a while (so odd hearing "Lenny" reference "Ryno" like Ron knew the guy), but I gotta say that Ron's response to his call was kinda... touching.

I get that Ron has pretty much moved on, and seems prepared no matter which way this thing ends...

But it was as close to a "chasing Cameron Gray down the street with a phone" moment as I've seen Ron have in a long time in defense of his friend.

I think that his meeting with Fez's shrink the night before, if not explained / clarified things, at least maybe allowed Ron to understand a bit more about what his old buddy had been going through, and why he might have shut himself off from some people, and become a bit more socially awkward, both on the air and off.

Like Ron, I don't blame "Chuckwagoncook", as I don't think it was intentional, but it did seem to spark the beginning of a downward spiral.

Not sure the point of this, except that I listened to that segment on the way home yesterday while driving in the rain, after a long day, and well... got a bit sentimental for they buddays, and what they (and "we", including the long time listeners) used to have.

Fez had some medical testing scheduled to start April 6th...the carney/wrestling origins of our favorite show thought that making some drama about Fez re-signing his contract (all a work) would be more entertaining than saying he had some medical screening/testing to be performed

so, they pretended that he was negotiating his contract during the show hours (first time this would have ever happened) and then Fez had some negative medical results from the testing...Fez is still out dealing with the medical testing results and now no talk about contract negotiation and only about his heath (as it should be)

absolutely love this show...still a little insulted that they carney us so much

How did Ron do the opposite? He's been carrying a show that Fez has probably made over a million dollars from over the past decade. Ron is a person too. The point of everyones life is not to coddle Fez.

People have contributed to Fez' problems but that doesn't mean Fez wouldn't have any problems if they didn't contribute to them. It's a complicated relationship.

Just remember the rest of the country and to what extent there are that many listeners to even matter out there to really matter, are not so hip to the games of Ron and Fez. So, what may not work on us, will work on the other 47 or so. OK, 45 as Alaska and Hawaii don't count. From what I've seen, it wouldn't surprise me to have a rule that outside NY callers get put up on the caller board first.

I really have my doubts as to the amount of listeners outside of this area have really caught on without any kind of promo other than word of mouth and if and when they have tuned in, its been Fez bashing for many years or yes yes yes from Chris Stanley.

I am almost past being bitter and hurt, but just dont care for being played with, especially now by Cross and his Bull Shit. Telling me to my face not going to hire anyone else, not in the budget and corporate radio is very structured and told me to go try the other stations down the street during my job interview. Pretty shitty.



Anywaymy research shows me the majority of listeners are still in this area and whatever work they may be pulling is all for the benefit of those who haven't been around for awhile.

Fez IMO, just stopped doing what he was best at and that was puns and making fun of others. If he became way too over the top way too insensitive all of a sudden to names and such, thats a shame and oddly ironic. His claim to fame has been his demise.

Please go ahead, set up a thread, blog or something and to the extent I truly feel comfortable I will do the best I can. somethings that I did, bit wise to this day, I still don't want to reveal as some are too good to be true!
