View Full Version : Are Wrestling Fans Morons?

For many years, wrestling fans got a bad rap. Back in the old days, if you told someone you watched wrestling, chances are they would think you were brain dead. People looked down on it, and I always found myself defending it. Now, it has become a more mainstream and polished product, bigger than ever.
Do you take any heat admitting you watch wrestling?

I do Heck still take heat in college. When I talk to my intellectual friends they say are you 8 again while my other well-rounded life-living friends are totally into the stroylines and fueds saying "WHAT" to everything I say (still hasn't gotten old yet).
Am I moron, possibly but I can not deny that I watch "the best damn male soap opera under the sun" wrestling!

it used to be a lot worse. now it's a lot more mainstream and people cannot deny what a big money making business it is. i've never had a problem admitting it but i get a lot less heat now, although idiots who don't know wrestling only know about hogan and austin and the rock. if only they knew jericho is wrestling's living legend
thanks to WWFallon
and Gvacnomore for the
money sig!

Well, wrestling has become more mainstream, but to answer your question - yes.
I wish I could say no, but I've been to a few wrestling shows in my day, and I've dealt with enough drunk rednecks to say that yeah, a great deal of wrestling fans ARE morons.

I was just discussing this with my friend today. I
have to say in the 80's early 90's if you admitted
you liked wrestling you had to explain for 30
minutes that you knew it was fake... Nowadays you
may get an eyeroll but not much worse than
that......

Oh.. ABSOLUTELY... a lot of wrestling fans are freakin dumb as shit.. but I however do not get any heat for admitting I am a wrestling fan... none at all.. maybe that's because I don't walk around wearing only wrestling clothing and my verbal ability doesn't consist of old promos pieced together...
that would be a cool gimmick though.
