do you guys have any idea how much money these colleges make of these players? it's sickening. think how much NBA owners make a year, and then think how much more they would make if they didn't have to pay the players. it's bullshit, the players should definetely get paid.

even after you consider tuition, and living there, and the cars and stuff they are getting behind everyone's back, the colleges are making TONS of money. TONS. give some to the players you rich unathletic fuck owners

I totally agree with you. At St.Johns the same shit goes on. Heck, half of the b-ball team doesnt even goes to class and get passed by professors.

I have to take out loans up the wazoo to go to school. These guys get the world handed to them.

They should not get paid at all.

their payment is the opportunity for a college education. They are attending an institution of learning, not a professional sports factory. If they want to be paid, they shouldn't go to college and play professionally somewhere. although i am not a college athlete myself, i am very aware of the difficulties that come with being a student athlete, nonetheless they are student athletes.

The NCAA is a joke. I say student-athletes should receive some kind of stipend. Not a lot, but some type of payment.

athletes can't work in awork study program because they have no time. unless they have a full scholarship, it leaves them with bills they can't pay. high profile athletics should count as work-study

Athletes are people who play ball or the like; games we all played as kids.

Yet, some hold these people out to be "heroes" and worth emulating! To me this demonstrates the "lowest common denomenator" thinking endemic to our cultrure.

Paying a guy who hits a ball more money than a teacher or cop is a concept that is foreign to my way of thinking.

the reason they get paid so much is because it makes so much money. it sucks that saving a life or teaching a child does not make money, but it's the truth.

if you say tution and board for 4 years costs a million dollars (which it doesn't), multiply that by 15 kids on the team, that's 15 million dollars. these schools make that off ticket sales alone, let alone t.v. deals and the other kids who go to their school because of the team.

these faggot owners make TONS of cash, TONS. give some of it back to the people who make your money.

A better use for the profits made by sports franchizes is to reduce ticket prices and make the sport accessable to all who want to see it.
