How long can one last without sleep?? I think my record was 40 hours once.

chemically stimulated or naturally?
chemically......although i dont reccomend this to anyone....in college during krystal meth period i was up for 9 days. by the 5 day and the 4th night of undregrounds i started seeing things a little off, by the 9 th day full on hallucinations and paranoia.

the longest i've gone was 52 hours.

I can stay up for at least 6 hours before I need to sleep.

my record was 49 hours.
oh that was a good sleep after that!

Honestly, I never used to keep track in Hours, just exams. I think My record was 5 exams, 3 papers...

My personal record was about 3 days and nights while studying for the NY and NJ Bar exams.
I couldn't even think of going more than 48 hours now, and only then under dire circumstances.
Here's an interesting bit of information and trivia.
"According to sleep specialist Dr. Tom Bond, the director of the Sleep Disorders Center for Adults and Children in the Williamsburg Community Hospital, a continual lack of sleep can lead to anything from irritability and nausea to, in an extreme case, death.
Bond, who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, explains that staying awake for more than 20 days will probably result in death. He notes, however, that the current world record for staying awake is 11 days."
I recall studies where sleep was permitted but REM sleep was not. It caused temporary psychosis.
