Davey & Goliath was funded by the Lutheran Church in America, and was first syndicated in 1962.
You know the Lutherans, they're the ones dancing naked with snakes.

oh that's right. And Davey's goal every episode was to kill Superman.
Right?

"Davey... don't do that Davey..."
MARK FACT: Related to Davey and Goliath, two mentions from the Simpsons
**The Flanders' doorbell plays the Davey & Goliath theme from "Homer Vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment"
** Maude Flanders' speaking about her son Todd's TV habits: "Well, he used to watch Davey & Goliath, but he thought the idea of a talking dog was blasphemous..." from "Bart the Lover."

I could never understand how anybody(like Davey) could be so stupid as to not put a cotter pin on his go cart axle.

I love the new commercial!
But still, it isn't the same without hearing a heavy-handed religious message to go along with it.
