he's coming on strong lately. I don't know what changed about him, but his shtick is definitely more entertaining now. look at him in that hungry man commercial. he's a freakin riot! he can do it there, he can do it in the ring

and the man has skills. He was great in Harlem Heat, and I think he can get that level back in time, but he needs a new finisher. His axe kick doesn't show off the man's size and strength enough. He could do some pump handle slam and call it the "t bone" or something inane like that.

Here's Booker T: A mediocre wrestler who can't work a mic for shit. He has 0 mic skills & has no gimmick other than being Vince Russo's carbon copy Rock. Wow, I'm impressed that he can do a shitty RockBottom & call it The Bookend(sarcasm.) Hell the Rock's sucks as well. Rock hasn't been a good wrestler for years. Ever since he got fame he's been wrestling like a sloppy primadonna. Look at all the shit he does now, then go look at a video of the Corporate Champ or Heel NOD Rock (especially when he first named him self the Rock & got the heel super narcissistic attitude).
Personally there is only one rock: Don 'The Rock' Muraco.
Booker T should learn some new moves & if he's going to do the axe kick then he needs some longer trunks so we don't have to see his nuts (the camera guys must be gay, always showing fruit-baskets.)

I agreee.. the Rock was a better wrestler before fame hit him...he used to look more fluid and clean... then he started getting cheap pops and for some reason his style in the ring began to look sloppy.... he used to show a lot of promise in the ring... but not any more... look at the tapes, Fallon.. you'll see it and be shocked...

I have always disliked Booker T, his matches never do anything for me at all...he's just not impressive in my opinion.

He's not just like the Rock, because at least Booker actually wrestles a little in his matches. And if he steals his style from anyone, it's 2 guys:

Ron Simmons and Butch Reed, aka DOOM, aka the original Harlem Heat.

Those guys could brawl or wrestle, and I remember seeing Reed and Flair tear down the house in a 20 minute Clash match from back in the day. Neither Booker or Rocky compare.

One more thing: Do you only have mic skills if you repeat the same tired phrases for 4 years? Is a llama's anus really supposed to be "skills" on the mic? Dig THAT suckas, if you smell what mrbungle is cooking :)

Fallon is pretty much right. Booker is a good worker, with good mike skills & charisma, and IMO he does deserve a spot in the upper card or at the least in the upper mid-card. But he's got too very big things against him:

1. Vince is loathe to push ANYONE that he himself hasn't "created". If you didn't make your star in the WWF, you might as well resolve yourself to an eternity of Heat matches.

2. He's WCW through and through, so WWF fans don't "get" him, and thus don't like him.

And the Rock has NEVER been any good, wrestling-wise. That's why he's the perfect "sports entertainer". He's the best on the mike, he oozes more charisma than half the locker room, and he has several signature phrases & moves, but he's not good at actual wrestling. It doesn't mean he's less entertaining to watch, but if you're going to compare him to Booker T, I'd say there is no comparison, because Booker is a better *wrestler* than Rocky.

Well, here's a fresh perspective on Booker T, and why I wish they'd treat him with a bit more respect.

The guy toiled away in WCW for YEARS....close to a decade....first in the tag team Harlem Heat with his brother, and then as a singles wrestler. He fought for a position in the mid-card, and went out there and busted his ass for the promotion, when the guys in the main event (i.e. Hogan, Hall, Nash, Luger, etc.) half-assed it in the ring and basically ran the promotion for their own amusement (and thus helped run it into the ground). He put his heart into the business, and finally, a break came, and he not only rose to the upper card, but became a multi-time world champion.

Then the sale happens. Booker T COULD have sat out on his contract, like so many ex-WCW guys did, and collected somewhere in upwards of a million plus, but he didn't do that. He loved the business too much, so he signed on with the WWF, for a harder schedule and less pay.

And now he's presented (at best) as a Rock clone, and he jobbed clean the other day to Spike Dudley. SPIKE FUCKING DUDLEY. Now, I like Spike, I respect Spike, Spike's a good guy....but it's a tragedy that Booker T had to job to Spike f'ing Dudley.

Basically, it pisses me off what the WWF has done with Booker. Here's a talented guy, who has charisma and ability, and a genuine love for this business, and they want to waste him doing un-funny little skits about Japanese shampoo commercials.

Booker T is VERY much like Jericho. It's the same situation. After years of being in the mid-card, Jericho, a man of perhaps under appreciated talent, finally made it to the upper card and became champion. Same with Booker T. I just think he deserves to be handled better than he has been.
