This has really been annoying the Hell out of me lately...

Why do people feel the need to be phony? Why be nice to someone you really don't like then complain that they won't leave you alone? Did you ever think that if you ignorned them they'd go away and you wouldn't have to waste all that time being nice to their face then talk about them behind their bacK?

If you don't like someone don't talk to them, why is that such a difficult concept to grasp??

you find that a lot when working in an office building.. if don't like someone i will so them the respect of not saying hi or even acknowledging them.. i would want them to do the same for me... i could not stand it when i was in an office and these nasty older(i hate men) women say hello and then talk about you as soon as you leave... fuck that... i had to tell them just to not even look at me... what assholes.... gets me pissed thinking about it....

Probably because when you're nice to someone, it makes you look good to other people. I guess it's a matter of being accepted and looking good to others, and when you're nice to someone, even in an artificial way, still makes you look good.

Also, some people like to have backup friends...people who when the friends they really like aren't around or are busy, then can be hanged out with or whatnot. They're like secondary friends in a way. It sucks because it only is going to hurt that secondary friend in the long run, and the person doing it is a fuckoff for playing with someone's friendship that way.

And i guess people talk about them behind their backs because again, that makes them accepted by others because it's like they're telling secrets/gossiping, and to some people. that's what they need in a friendship to keep things interesting.

I have to totally disagree with that Sun...I have absolutely NO respect for people who talk shit about not liking people then are nice to them.

When I don't like someone they know it and my friends know it. Don't like it? Too bad, don't ever ask me to be nice to someone I can't stand, it'll never happen.

Neither do I Ivy, but that's the way some people think and perceive the people and relationships around them. I wasn't saying that this was the way it was, but rather that this is the way those people (who are fake) think.

I've encountered my fair share of people who are fake, and they're pretty easy to spot. But there are a lot of them.

It's sad, but why people do it isn't surprising...it's a lot easier to be fake and spineless than to have the guts and/or courage to be honest with people. And most people do take the easy way out.
