Am I a Racist?

I enjoy watch the shows Blind Date and Shipmates everynight. Am I a racist if I'm disappointed when the have black couples? Somehow, the shows just aren't as interesting.

DAN - A racist believes in the inherent superiority or inferiority of various groups of people.

A rascist takes his belief and uses them to discriminate against the people he considers inferior.

You just find members of your own race more attractive and prefer to watch shows that they are on. That's not surprising and it's not racist. Saying that no blacks or Italians etc are good or attractive or smart or whatever is racist.

I "channel surf" and sometimes I love to stop and look at the Indian Channel and the music videos. I am intrigued. I feel like I'm on acid. The strange moves, the music, the vocals..it just freaks me out. Same goes for The Russian Channel. It's 2002 and people are wearing leisure suits and polyester, lip synching to "Culture Club" songs in Russian. And man, nothing beats "Caliente", a hot dance show on Spanish TV on Saturdays!

being a racist is the least of your problems... the fact that you enjoy these shows at all is a much larger problem to deal with

Don't playa-hate, TomPoo. The shows are junk food TV in all it's glory. I watch Masterpiece Theatre and The West Wing...I just like to watch stupid people interact sometimes...is that so wrong?
