The board needs to stop destroying itself from the inside!

I just want to remind many of the members about one of the unwritten rules of this board.

Friendship; we are here to laugh, discuss, and debate as friends.

This board has always been a place where members can come to escape their troubles.

There are thousands of reasons to post on RF.net, but attacking people and a desire to start trouble should never be a motivation for a member to post.

As our member pool continues to grow, the petty attacks and complete lack of respect for other people has been growing. This is unacceptable in my view.

The members here, over the past year, have consistently shown genuine concern for the other members. There has been a strong sense that this board has been a conglomeration of people who genuinely care for there fellow members.

If there is a member that you have a personal vendetta against; take it somewhere else.

We need to get back to the qualities that have kept the board strong. Not continue to destroy other people's self-worth and sense of safety as a member of a supportive community.

Rooster, you are the reason i joined this board in the first place. i met a lot of you at the halloween bar crawl, and when you told me about the board i decided to check it out. now i am addicted as many of us are.

This being said, everything i say or do is purely in jest, i think almost everyone on this board is extremely cool and when i can take a break at work to post my stupid thoughts or try to make any of you laugh it totally makes my day.

i do not believe i offended anyone in my short tenure, and if i have i do apologize. being new i have also seen that there are many personal relationships on this board, and that sometimes it comes out on the board which is not cool when it mean spirited.

nothing is worse than coming to this board to forget my problems, only to find more going on. i think we should all keep the personal shit to a minimum, and just keep the good natured ribbing and moronic thoughts we have going strong.

you are my friends, and i hate seeing my friends fight. if you must hate call up and make fun of al dukes, but other than that just remember ron and fez rule, and so does this board

Im going to say this, people might have there differences. Theres nothing wrong with that, you wouldnt be human if you didnt think differently than someone else on this board. I understand Rooster's sentiments and agree a pre-emptive message was needed. But, let's calm down...this place is still great! Everyonce in a while it rains in Orlando, but Disneyland is still great.

And, while I appreciate the help, we moderators can't just delete everything and ban everybody who has opinions we don't agree with. We do our best, but it's better sometimes to let a disenting voice be heard and disagreed with than to constantly sweep it under the rug. Further, bannings aren't a panacea for every problem. It's better usually to change someone's mind or let them vent than to anger them further and open the board up to spamming and hacking attacks.

I dont really believe its just a matter of being serious. my friends set up a message board so that we could keep in touch during school and its just seem to backfire in our faces because personally things are aired out in the public and drags in people that shouldnt even be involved.
And Personnaly attacks are something for AIM or ICQ not a message board.
