I don't say this much, but damn I'm proud of the CT state government right now

First they approved a first in the nation law protecting the right of citizens to film police officers in public

Then they repealed Capital Punishment

And just yesterday, the House passed medical Marijuana

Sometimes living in a liberal state ain't so bad. Glad to see my tax dollars at work this week.

Our fellow nutmeggers voted for a guy who lied about going to Vietnam, but those 3 measures, I actually agree with

And you sure paying a lot of tax dollars.

I can't believe they overturned the death penalty -- especially so soon after those two pieces of garbage who were involved in the Petiit killings in Cheshire were sentenced to death.

Third highest tax rate in the country, it really is disgusting. And the medical marijuana laws are very restrictive. For example, someone such as myself, with two lifelong and serious nerve based issues in severe Tinnitus and Cluster Headaches (often cited as "the most painful condition know to medical science") would not be eligible. I'm not particularly interested, and I have no idea if it would help with those specific conditions, but it is strange that nerve damage is not on the list of approved conditions when it shows up on most other states lists.

And we never used the death penalty as it is, and while what those two animals did was obviously as disgusting as it gets I've never been comfortable with state sanctioned murder, or the "eye for an eye" mentality.

Goddamn it AJ, I was all high on Connecticut this morning, now I hate the whole state again, buzzkill.

The medical marijuana is a step in the right direction -- especially in a state that stil has Blue Laws on the books (I think).

The last person executed was Michael Ross.

I didn't mean to bring you down, but I couldn't believe how much taxes increased since I left CT. Even my parents finally gave in and switched their residency to Florida.

Unfortunately we still have them in CT

Im not too far from the NY Border, Port Chester is about 10 minutes away, but theres a petition to end them.

Mass is the same way. Weird liberal states with stupid religious laws.

Funny you should mention the blue laws.
