My name is Matt, if I named my hypothetical daughter Mathilda would I just look like a total egotistical asshole?

Also, this is the best time in the history of rock music to be a female musician. Coincidence that it's also the same time the patriarchal shitbag record industry is at its' weakest? Probably not. Just shows to go you, they never knew what you wanted. Put that into your pipe and smoke it, Ronnie Wood, Bob Geldoff, and all the old guard that uses bullshit phrases like 'filtered excellence' to justify the existance of talent vampires.

Borderline. Go with Tilly over Mattie as a nickname, if you do choose this route.

I like it because I like old timey names, and you can use Tilly or Mattie which are two of the best nicknames for a little girl. My friend just had a baby Maddie from Madeline, which put it in my head. Not a fan of Madeline maybe because it's the protagonist of a book I just read who was an annoying bitch.

You do need Axl for GnR. I think they talked last week about how many original members you need in a band to be authentic, and I say you need the singer and the primary songwriter. If they're the same person thats all you need.

But Jenny Lewis could tour without Blake Sennet doing Rilo Kiley songs and I'd go happily.

They also implied that Queen without Freddy Mercury is a cover band, as if Brian May is just some douche.

underdog 04-12-2012 07:13 AM

good video choice, RMHL.

sailor 04-12-2012 07:14 AM

I don't think you even need the main songwriter, unless they're going to put out new shit. That said, doesn't axl sound like shit now, supposedly?

I think it's incredible how they shot it.

Courtney says Francis banged Grohl as posted by Matt RMHL in yesterday or the day befores thread.

And the hilarious thing is her @Davegrohl when @davegrohl is an IT dude in germany.

I think you need them to stop it from being 'cover band' territory. Or those two things carry the most authentic weight to me.

Misteriosa 04-12-2012 07:29 AM

its only 1130 and im so hungry already  it makes me feel like a piggy.

sailor 04-12-2012 07:32 AM

Funny Ron brought up Sinatra; I was just going to mention he didn't write his songs either. Who gives a fuck about that?

I think the cover band was just being silly. That said, as a fan I care if the performance sounds like the original band. To me, that means the lead singer.

Fiber & protein. Make yourself a nice fruit smoothie with some soy milk.

I'm too lazy to work a blender in the morning, but I drink Bolthouse Farms parfait smoothies. It's strawberry, granola and yogurt blended and it has soy and whey protein. And a kashi go lean bar, usually keeps me good.

Making smoothies would be good because the bottled shit always has more sugar than I want.

realmenhatelife 04-12-2012 07:42 AM

Um, doesn't Ron more or less to a live 'open letter' every day?

Misteriosa 04-12-2012 07:44 AM

what the fuck did i just tune in to? :surrender:

I make one everyday. Very little work with a stick/immersion blender. Mixed berries, strawberry, banana, wheat germ, soy milk and a juice (mostly acai or oj).

I bring it to work and have it over a few hours. It's often lunchtime before I even finish it.

yup.. 7th grade was a time where it was:

1) weird because everyone started changing in a very obvious physical way

2) you were pretty sure who was gay or straight by then.

As I've gotten older I've noticed needing breakfast more. I used to never eat it and be fine, not I'm starving at lunch and when I get home if I dont eat it.

That and now every time I get hurt, it hurts something else. Like I tweaked my neck so now I have headaches. I hurt my lower back and it was making my balls ache.

The immersion blender came with a mixing jar, then I move it to one of those Aladdin cups with the screw tops. Frozen berries. I arrange it in the morning and then let it defrost for like 40 minutes before blending. You can make it the night before and let I defrost in the fridge, but I'm generally too lazy to prep hat far ahead of time.

I think they shot a lot of The Avengers across the street from where I was living in Toronto. The streets were covered in NYPD and NY taxis. It was weird.

I hate that. Especially when they use a hilly street... New York is Flat...
