I would have judged the couple had they aggressively snatched the ball or knocked the kid out of his father's hand. I don't necessarily have a ton of respect for people who collect things, but I think it is profoundly disrespectful to judge a baseball fan (regardless of age) for wanting a souvenir baseball.

I like fans to act like fans. What good is it if you are in a stadium full of people, like Ron, who sit on their hands and just watch the game?

Fez isn't anti-gay. Fez is a man who was raised conservative and, while he likes men, doesn't respect gay men.

Imagine if you are heterosexual male anime nerd and you want to meet a girl at an anime convention. It would be easy to assume you are not straight because 98% of the girls you meet at the convention repulse you. It doesn't make you not interested in women, it makes you incompatible with your intended dating pool.

Fez wants a young gay man, but he ultimately doesn't have the same interests as the typical openly gay young adult. He probably could find a closeted comic book nerd / pro wrestling fan. Actually, one of my best friends is gay, a comic book/wrestling nerd, and a licensed psychologist. Would be perfect for Fez except my friend is not a young adult or particularly fit.
