PGA Tour 2008
We're about 6 weeks into the new golf season. Tiger's got a couple victories under his belt, and is in the finals of the Accenture Match Play Tournament. The big question is whether he can pull off the Grand Slam this year, as each of the Majors are being played at courses where Tiger has kicked ass at one time or another.
Phil Mickelson may have a great year as well, having one victory now, and has had plenty of time with Butch Harmon. But he lost in the second round of the Accenture. I'm really looking forward to this golf year. |
Yeah, this year should be nice. Tiger is on a role. He has won the last 5 or 6 international events he has entered in a row.
Phil is playing well, losing in match play really isn't that indicative of how he is playing. Hopefully additional time with Harmon will help him win a couple more majors or at least make things more competitive for Tiger. Would love to see a Tiger/Phil final pairing at the Masters! |
Tiger will "Grand Slam" it this year if one thing dosent fail him - his putting. That is where he wins these tourneys.

now that i play, I watch also
I have been kicking ass recently in my first year of Fantasy Golf It is Scary I have the 1st (Brian Gay) 2nd (Matt Kuchar) and 3rd (Steve Marino) place golfers this week Tiger is a Machine, he only gets better I dont think he will Gland Slam it, but this is his year yet again |
I've watched at least some of every tourament so far this year and obviously Tiger is a beast. It was nice to see Phil win in L.A., I was happy for him. I don't get too excited about Golf until the Masters, so i'll hit this thread up again in April.

The best example of HDTV is watching golf. Goddamn, the difference is AMAZING.
|
I was at the Accenture Matchplay in Tucson this past weekend and it was the best event I have ever personally been to. I watched Tiger hit just about every shot in his last two matches and most of the time I could get fairly close. The sound of his irons making impact is something I don't think I will ever forget or hear again from anybody else.

|
Tiger again pulled off the unbelievable, winning Arnie Palmer's Invitational with a 25 foot putt. He's now tied with Ben Hogan with 64 PGA tour wins, and is 18 behind Sam Snead for the all-time title.
Can't wait for the Masters. |

truer words have never been spoken |
have any of you guys ever seen Tiger play live? hes one of the few greats ive never seen live. ive seen a lot of greats, jordan, kobe, a-rod, brady, gretzky, lemieux, but never tiger. i need to see him before its all over.

After one day at Doral, Ogilvy is at -7 under, with Tiger and Phil both at -5. Although he had a 67, Tiger doesn't seem happy with the way he putted (he three putted 18), so he's probably pretty angry at himself, which doesn't bode well for the rest of the field.
|
I'd love to see a Tiger v. Phil Sunday showdown at Doral this weekend. It would make for a nice little Masters preview.
|
Tiger gets an eagle on three, and is now tied for the lead.
Let's see if he gives up the lead at all for the rest of the tournament. |

After the third round, Ogilvy is at -16 under. Tiger's five benind at -11.
I don't think Tiger's ever come back from this far behind during 4th round. |
this would tie his biggest final round comeback.
I dont think its likely based on the way he has played, however Vijay and someone else shot 63 yesterday/this morn and with the rain making greens hold better, you never know. The way ogilvy has hit, i think he is gonna hold on to it |
The Masters starts today.
Can't wait til the weekend to lay on my couch all day watching this in HD. |
All times are GMT -4. The time now is 09:04 PM. |
