Fallout 3
 

I got an early retail copy last Friday, and this has to be one of the best games I've played so far. Since Bethesda took it over (Oblivion fame), it's a good shift from the old top down few Diablo-esque view, to the First/Third person game. They did a good job with the game, graphics are absolutely amazing, story is good and controls are responsive. The VATS system is a welcomed addition.

This game is pretty much if Oblivion met Mad Max.

Also, starting out with nothing and having to scavenge for everything really adds a lot to the game.

Can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Never played the original series. Better or worse? I mean in terms of gameplay, since bigger 'splosions dont make cool games for me

The original Fallout was a top down RPG game(ala Diablo) set in post nuclear world and was very well recieved

Fallout 3 is still set in a post nuclear world but is a first person shooter RPG, Im looking forward to it and it seems to be getting good reviews from the VG press

There are explosions when you throw grenades and frag mines.

I wish I'd preordered this in retrospect, but for now I think I'm going to hold off and try to borrow my friend's Far Cry 2 (awesome game) in order to play through it before I move on and look to spend more money.

Loved me some Wasteland.

I just picked up but I'm pissed because I thought Red Alert 3 was to be released today but that's no until tomorrow, I wish video games had a Tuesday release like movies and music

I hope you meant plain XBOX - I'd much rather play it on a console and that's what I left off at.

I just played for about an hour, Its good, some minor minor bugs but good

I could post a link to Wasteland but it's technically not freeware, so that would be against the board rules.

(Though a port on the DS would be kick ass)
