Pro Tools installation venting thread
ProTools 8 LE is kicking my ass. I'm on my fifth install (5 hours) of this piece of fucking garbage. It literally takes 30-45 minutes to install. The splash screen actually warns you that it may take 30 minutes depending on what extras you select to install. I selected the bare minimum and it 30-45 minutes to install. To uninstall, it takes me approx. 10-15 minutes and it hangs the shutdown every time.
The one time I got it successfully installed, I could not run the program because I did not have sufficient permission to start a plug in, whatever the cocksucking fuck that means. The only solution to this particular problem I've found on the digidesign forums is user submitted and advises to re-download a copyright driver that you actually have to pay for. Re-download? I never downloaded it in the first place. These fucking corporate assfuckers take the copyright shit to the extreme of crippling their product. So I'm watching the install progress bar not move for another 30 minutes.
Basically, at this point, I got my wife 400 bucks worth of shit for our anniversary. At least there's beer in the fridge.
