Three reasons:

1) I'm conserving my days off for next year when I'll have a kid and need to have some extra time off.

2) I went to the parades in 98 and 99. I had media access THEN and it sucked because it was just a crush of people and you really didn't see a lot unless you were at city hall.

3) H1N1. Lots of people, questionable hygiene.

I was at the parade earlier. Overall, me and my brother enjoyed being there. We saw most of the Yankees.
Also, throwing and dodging rolls of toilet papers was pretty much the theme the parade as well.
