Well the official report is 10.2% but its actually about 17%. Im going to wait for Gibbs to spin it & say that we are losing at a slower pace or that it was expected to be 10.3%. Stimulated yet?
and yes, we're losing at a far slower pace thanks to the stimulus. Another round of stimulus money should go out to shore up state budget deficits further to help stem some of the damage that is occurring. California is already past the permanent damage point, Texas is closing in on it and a large swath of lesser GDP states. Only a scant few states are in the relatively healthy unemployment range and retail sales are faltering, causing more job loss in our ever-increasingly retail based economy.
Regardless, given the exponential nature of job loss in the American economy the people who have such a naive and narrow minded understanding of economics are really hurting our chances of recovering from it. Not that citing the Postman is in any way useful but there is a certain similarity now between Holnists and those opposing proven economic methods for starting economic recovery (and before you say "Well, WW2 brought us out of the Depression" just remember that during WW2, roughly 50% of the American GDP was in some way related to government controlled spending)

The Key to that GDP figure is that 65+ years ago we were producing items. Car assembly lines were made to produce tanks and planes. That was an all pitch in effort What do we produce now? Almost nothing We are a consumption based economy. Furthermore borrowing and spending is not the cure to what got us to this point which was borrowing and spending
This whole jobs created and or saved is fuzzy logic, thats like saying I lost $1000 playing roulette but made back $400 at the blackjack table and went home

Dunno. Can someone check to see if they impeached Reagan in 1981?
I think he escaped on a catch-22 technicality. During Iran-Contra he claimed incompetence, but how can someone incompetent accurately gauge their own competence?

Those with dementia know they have it.
When Reagan was given the medal of honor. He was heard to say yummy as he tried to peel away what he thought was foil of the chocolate.
Another reason why that dope is the worst President Ever. He won't attend the 20th anniversary of the Berlin wall coming down but he flew to NY on the 1 year anniversary of Lehmans Collapse

You people would be pissed if he went to the 20th anniversary of the Berlin wall coming down.
"There's so many problems in the US, why is he flying overseas!?"

I saw some of that HBO Documentary on the campaign and election of Obama. Amazing how one year later the afterglow is gone and theres really no hope and change. Wall St is going back to its old business as usual, Healtcare Reform is stuck in the mud, Afghanistan is spiraling out of control, 17% unemployment but he sure gives a good speech
Definitely a different mouth feel, didn't feel as "thick"

10%, not 17%. Not that 10% is a good thing either, it fucking sucks. But last time I checked 10% was still less than 17%.
And I think lifting the restrictions on stem cell research is a pretty big deal. And he signed into law the new hate crimes bill. That's two off the top of my head. You can't say he hasn't done anything, all you can say is you don't agree with what he has done. If you want to argue about the effectiveness of what he has done that is another story.

When you factor in people who haved stopped looking its actually about 17%, Furthermore long term unemployment is greater now then during the depression.
This might sound shocking but I believe the elimination of the Missile defense in E. Europe was one of his better policies, Also I believe that We should withdrawl from Afghanistan, They don't want to be westernized, let them live in the 7th century, Our Military shouldnt be nation building and being public relations people. Why is he taking his time on this important issue?
Don't stop there, why do we need a military presence in so many other countries? I think its time to dismantle the empire a bit.
No more national guard units deploying overseas would be a better move, They should be mobilized to protect the southern border
