Bye-bye to Howard Stern on the FM.  I first heard him on WNBC.  When the man was on , he was dead on.  That being said, most of the last 18 months have been painfully bad.  He looks pathetic in the ads for Letterman tonight.

David Lee Roth won't be that bad, right? ugh

Bye-bye, Howard.  Bye-bye.

As a man who got into him in High School, he's such a disappointment.  As Torker said, when Howard was on, he was the king.  But he hasn't been ON in so long that it's a fucking crime.  I can't argue with his ratings, but I know what I find funny and he's not it anymore.

It'll be so great to not even have him on the FM dial.  He'll be off in satellite land and since I don't have Sirius, I'll probably never hear from him again.  He won't have the FCC to play victim to, he won't have anyone fining him and giving him free press.  He'll just do his show and never bother my life again.

He's been the victim for so long, he's not going to have ANYTHING over at Sirius.  I heard that hack comedian isn't even going with him to Sirius.  That guy is who a lot of fans say brought funny back to the show, and he's not going to Sirius.

Good luck Hoo Hoo Howie.  Well actually, no.  Don't have good luck, you fucking hypocrite assfuck.

EDIT.. I thought YESTERDAY was his last show.  I suck. Wait a minute....HE sucks. Whatever.

His diehard fans still think he's funny, and I'd like to tell both of them that they're crazy.

I'd be psyched to hear Howard turned loose on Satellite radio...if it were 1996.

Nowadays he's as edgy as a marshmellow.

it is such a cliche to say that howard stinks these days.

it is like you are sitting there and telling me that the dukes of hazard was really ruined for you when the cousins took over as the leads.

the very idea that you think the show will keep the same level of entertainment for you over the span of twenty years is impossible.  people will always sit there and say i used to listen to howard when i was in high school and he was ballzy, edgy, different and that is why i loved him.

you know what, you were ballzy, edgy, different and interesting when you were young too and now you are a boring hump.

i grew up in an area where howard was it.  i loved him.  now i don't care and i have moved on.  i am not going to bash on him but think about myself.  it isn't howard that changed, it is you.

i have changed in all of that time along with my tastes.  one of them is this new show that i really like more and i take so much more meaning out of then i ever did when i was in high school listening to stern.  it is a show that i have been listening to for four years and it goes by the name of ron and fez.

it also goes along with the music i listen to, shows i watch, movies i see, books i read, life i lead.

we all want something for nothing.  the unconditional reign on howard cannot last forever. O and A bash on him for a good reason.  he is not the only human out there making great radio and he never was.

I disagree with almost every word of that.

Howard most certainly HAS changed.  In almost every way.  He used to be "hungry".  Now he's lazy.  Gone are the pre-produced segments...the show prep...etc etc.

I used to listen everyday. Then it was a few times per week.  Then a few times per month.  Then once in a while.  I would always poke my head in to see what Howie was up to.  Ya know, just to see if it was funny.....and it never is.

Having 200 million bucks in the bank changes a man.  So does surrounding yourself with nothing but "Yes men" (I think they're called sychophants or something like that.)

The last time I listened to Howard, he spent not one, not two. but THREE days whining about how his new stretch limo was too large and that it wasn't what he wanted.  THREE DAYS.  It wasn't funny.  It wasn't edgy. It was lazy, boring, radio.

His whole show is practically scripted now.

ONE: Hot chick enters

TWO: Fred plays "whaaat a pieeece of aaaass" jingle

THREE: Howard says the following phrases "Wow, Honey, look at'choo!", "Those things D cups?", and "Soo...all three inputs?"

FOUR: Robin says "Oh, Howard"

Turn on the show tomorrow.  If he doesn't follow that EXACT script...I'll give you a dollar.

It's lazy radio.  Whatever he's making...it's too much.

I still like Howard, maybe because I didn't listen in his prime (80's/early 90's). His show is still entertaining when he's not focused on one subject for months at a time.

fezident, thanks for repeating everything that O and A say on a daily basis.  if i wanted to hear that opinion i will just wake up at 7am and enjoy myself on 202.

this is what i am talking about with the cliche.  you have the nerve to sit there and say howard is a boring selll out because he knocks Ronnie for his Limo................but every day you yuck it up to the bits of drill diva, door diva, bagel diva.....and every other thing O and A bitch about (in their way).

I never said Howard was as good as he was in 1989 but the idea to bitch about him because he isn't as good now is a waste.

You have to pledge to either OandA or RandF or whoever...............you don't have to.

Just becuase you like The Apprentice doesn't mean you can't like Lost.  Only in radio do people compare shows.  Just sit back and enjoy or don't enjoy.

Yes, Howard 'jumped the shark' because Jackie left, or Artie got there, or Billy West left, or because someone else came along.  Who cares

I am watching him right now with that awful red hooded sweat shirt on.  and he stinks.

It's weird because I've never cared too much for Howard, although I do enjoy listenening to robin and I think her talent is wasted as Howard's sidekick. again, this is just my opinion.  I actually enjoyed Private Parts. Mainly I think because it had a really good director behind it and it turned to be a pretty good funny movie. Like everything else Howard is an acquired taste. Just like O & A you either love them or hate 'em there is no in between with these guys. I'm personally trying to acquire a taste for O & A only because I love Ron and Fez so much and I know they are all friends. but Like Howard I have only been able to take them in small doses. Personally, I'm not going to miss Howard but I do agree with the other posters that Howard has lost his edge. I got that and I only listen to him occasionally. that's it for me.     SEE yahhhhhh

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS.

possibly i'm the only person in the world but i was never into
stern.  never listened to his show, never watched his show, never
read his book, never saw his movie.  i actually never got into
talk radio until i moved to the ny metro area in jan 2000.

i've tried, but aside from rf & oa, no other shows grooved with me mojo.

I listened to Stern when he was DC 101, and I liked the movie. I sometimes check out his show on E!, but I never listen to him on the radio anymore. I get very sick of his ego. That said... I really don't give a damn about him.

I remember when Stern was on WCCC in Hartford then WNBC.

I loved his show 10-15 years ago.  But when Jackie left, then he split from Alison, he became tiresome.  I was sick of hearing everybody suck up about how hot Beth is, how he was partying with John Stamos and other C-list celebrities, and hearing him complain about how everyone ripped him off.  Did he invent the genre?  Maybe.  But when you "invent" something, you have to expect people to use it.

What used to make Howard funny was how he was the outsider, the poor married guy who dreamed of being included yet who also took stuck-up celebrities down a notch by asking them outrageous questions.  Now he's become one of the people he used to rip on.

Well, who was the first to;

-become hugely famous in radio

-do on-air hoaxes

-start doing live road shows to crowds of hundreds

-write best-selling books

-have a TV series

-have a movie made from his books

yep; that would be the King of All Media... Jean Shepherd

That sums up Howard nicely for me, He has changed but he is still head and tails better the your average morning show. I cant listen to him anymore, he's not in the market that I live in now but when I could I found myself listening less and less. I feel about Ron and Fez now how I used to feel about Howard I try to listen to the whole show every day and when I miss it I feel like I missed something.

There wasn't one good thing about the Letterman appearance last night.  He was there to do his plug but he wasn't giving me (joe siriusless) a reason to run out there and buy it.

Remember when he came out with the two hot lesbos on Leno and Leno had a fit.  Do something interesting to get people talking.  What a borefest it was last night.

Punch Dave in the face, do something.

Yeah lesbians kissing on TV that would be so shocking in 1996 when he did it on Saturday Night Live.  Since then the "gay" shows aren't taboo, hell even buffy the vampire slayer had freaking lesbians in it.

Howard Stern is just like Chris Berman a parody of themself.  What used to be funny is now just repeated

I can't even wrap my brain around that.  You ADMIRE the talent of someone who laughs at everything Hoo Hoo says, and add nothing?  I mean honestly, if she wasn't laughing at Howie's jokes, backing up the point he just made or yelling at Baba Booey, she would be silent until the news, which she doesn't really add ANYTHING to.

I don't agree with people who call her "The Hole" Or "Monkey in a Dunk Tank" but she is a worthless addition to the show now.

WHy are you attacking Fezident for his opinion?  We're not parroting what O&A say in here, we all have our own stories about the one or two events that drove us from Howard's boring show.  The Limo was Fezident's example of the event that showed him how terrible Howard had become.

And O&A do drill some things into the ground, but overall their show and Ron and Fez are always fresh.  Hoo Hoo is pretty much on autopilot and we all can see it.

We're upset because an otherwise good show on free radio has become a parody of itself.  That, and he's such a fuck he tried to stifle every new show coming up around him that he could.  I don't want to hear him bitch about clones, I want to see what he can do to make himself stand out from the crowd.  For years, his answer has been busniess as usual, nothing.

I read both his books, I watches his movie, I rented tapes of specials, I loved his TV show on Channel 9, I listened every morning, I EXPECT SO MUCH MORE OF HIM BECAUSE HE USED TO DELIVER.  Now he stinks.

I still enjoy Howard but I did lose some respect the other day when he went on saying he invented the notion of bands coming into the studio to play acoustic sets and how that led to people having bands coming into their studios and even the MTV Unplugged franchise.

And no one called him on it.

Surrounded by "yes" men indeed.

I tend to listen to Howard for only the first 1/2 hour or so before they settle in to do their show.  Sometimes there are those little "what happened to me last night" things they get into that can be amusing.  Maybe I'll tune back in for the news or if they have a guest I'm interested in but that's it.  Also I like the gossip game on Friday.  I have to agree that if you stay tuned in for too long its like a broken record.   I can't listen to Ron and Fez now but I never ever got tired of them and loved being able to listen to all 4 hours via the mp3 format.

I've been unfortunate enough to hear a couple "Gossip Games" Hoo Hoo was doing on his show, and he totally just blew throught the both of them.  He USED to take time with each story and riff on the people involved, but the last 2 I heard he just had the guy on the phone read the stories, they all guessed, they said which story was fake and they went to commercial.

The end.  It's much the same with every segment and bit Hoo Hoo used to do well.  He's just phoning it in at this point.
