Ok On July 7th I am going to start my training regiment again. I think my groin should be back by then. I will start by walking, but I already an Idea of what I want to focus on now. I want to Run 6 miles at 10:30 per mile. Then once I get that I can look into prepping for the NYC marathon. But first step is to get the old groin healthy.

I'm in shock. The thought occurred to me today to break my rope jumps into sets of 200 instead of 100 and I hit 7:54 - feeling like, next time I could actually go longer between breaks. 7:54 is astonishing to me. My ex-roommate, the kickboxer, did 7:30 when he was training for a fight and suddenly I was less than 30 seconds away from him? Holy fuck! So I sat down and bragged to him in a text message, telling him to repent as the End of Days is surely nigh when my fat-ass, chain-smoking old ass is creeping up on his time. When I sent the message I thought about what I'd do for the rest of my workout and came up with: try again, with even fewer breaks. So here it is:
7:21
REPENT, SINNERS!
Next time I'll break up the burpees into longer sets and I expect will achieve the level of advanced athelete. Fuck me!

So, it's been a month since I've stopped trying to lose weight, but I'm still looking to maintain my weight around the 210 mark.
I've added to my exercise regimen as well. More yoga stretches, doing some light boxing exercises that I'm going to build up slowly. I did 6 minutes of a boxing routine on the Wii and my arms chest and back were hurting. I'm doing 3 minutes every day now, will move up to 6 minutes next week, and then 10 the week after that.
I'm consistently at the 210 mark, and have built up some muscle and have lost some fat. Some days I'm at 212, and some days I'm at 208, depending upon what I ate and drank the day before, etc. Depending upon where I fall within that range, I modify my fat burning exercises, and/or my diet, for that day. For instance, if I'm at 208, I may treat myself to something very fattening that day, and keep up the exercises, or not. If I'm at 212, I need to keep a special eye on my diet for the day/week, and up my fat burning exercises.
Feels great to be able to keep the weight off after hitting a weight goal.
this is actualy kind of extreme, but i lost 15 pounds from doing 25 burpees 2x a day for about 4 or 5 days.
thanks for helping man
Big ups big man! Burpees rule! Keep pushing til you can do 100, then start bringing your time down and compare it to the MMA fighters doing the 100 Burpee Challenge. Check their Conditioning Discussions for other great workouts too. I was going to go to the old Olympic Stadium and do the Suicide Challenge this weekend but an opposition party journalist and his son were murdered there that day. I ain't doing the Murder Challenge, thank you very much.

Try suicides. I haven't done anything that works my hamstrings in about 12 years so I've been meaning to do this high-intensity challenge. Of course, last week when I tried to go to the Olympic Stadium here an opposition party journalist and his son were murdered after their workout, then today we had a big storm. But I hope to start doing suicides as well as longer runs a couple times a week.

Went running for the first time in years at the stadium near my house. Ran a mile in 8:16 and another in 8:00. First time I've been sore in a while, which is nice because it means I'm using my underused muslces.

I am a man over 3 bills. I have lost 70 lbs in the past using South Beath concepts, but gained about 75% of that weight back due to a variety of excuses (longer hours at work, school at night, planning a wedding, blah, blah blah). I just got back from Japan, where I ate like a HORSE but managed to lost 7 pounds because I was walking miles and miles every day. Plus it was hot as piss.
I am using that as a springboard to get back to where I need to be. Keep walking, keep eating freshly prepared food. I've got goals in mind for a 2 year plan sort of deal. Hopefully in a few months I have confidence enough in my efforts to share with all of you.
Ultimately I'd like to weigh 185 lbs. I started the week (Sunday night) at 211 lbs. and as of this morning (Friday) I'm down to 204 lbs. So I lost 7 lbs. this week. However, I don't go to the gym on the weekends and I eat like a pig so I'll prob. put 4 lbs. back on by Sunday night.
this was on January 18th and it's almost August 18th, so this is around 7 months later. I just weighed in at 184.2 lbs. I actually reached my absurd goal and since i started exercising i've probably lost around 55 lbs. I now think I want to weigh somewhere around 175 lbs. So we'll see how that goes, i'll check back in here in a few months.
so over the last 6 weeks since i picked out my wedding gown, i've lost 10 pounds. i've lost a couple of inches in all the right places. i'm going to attribute this to the fact that i started running again; i've had such more results from adding running instead of just walking. i can also run 2 miles without passing out, and decreased my time from 30 minutes to 24 minutes. i've been exercising consistantly for almost 3 months now which i havent been able to stick with since college. i'm finally feeling/seeing some muscles i havent seen/felt in years. usually i get bored or discouraged after a month or two. i'm so motivated now, between the wedding and the fact that i now work in a health-related field where i really do need to step up and look/feel the part. i'm half way from where i was at my largest to where i set my goal weight. i actually look forward to my long walks and runs and toning in my treatment room. hooray exercise! hooray health!
