Is there no true live first round coverage of this tournament? I know Tiger teed off at 10:45am but ESPN doesn't start their coverage till 4pm. Thats gay, even though the weekend is clearly the most important and i know that will be live.

The partners, etc. at Augusta have certain unique restrictions on television coverage of the Masters. I can't remember them all.

-4 for a leader after the first round, not too shabby, Tiger is right where he wants to be

Tiger is not playing well, but others are levelling off, except for Immelman.

If Immelman puts up four straight days under 70, then he deserves this green jacket. Otherwise I'm still rooting for Tiger

Tiger has to get to -8 or -9 under to have a chance to win.
And that means Immelman has to implode somewhat.

And Tiger has to get his shit together. I don't think either is gonna happen.

I don't think it's very likely now.

Immelman slips to -10.
If Tiger could get on a streak, a couple birdies now, he could build more pressure on these guys and they could start making big mistakes.

Never mind. That bogey Tiger picked up just effectively messed him up.

Has anyone ever gone to a PGA event? I would imagine that like baseball, golf is much more interesting in person than on TV.

I was at the U.S. Open when it was at Schinnecock. There is something about being at an event in person that you can't get while watching tv.
But because of the crowds and the fact that you can't be at every place at once, like cameras can, you don't see much of the tournament.
I was happier to be at home watching the end on tv rather than being there in person.

Wow.
Tiger finishes at -5, not putting well all day.
But, right now he's in second, and Immelman just double bogied 16 to fall back to -8.
I can't see Immelman losing three strokes in two holes, but if he did, it would be unbelievable.

This week's British Open is like taking a trip in the Wayback Machine as Greg "The Shark" Norman leads the Open after two rounds at even. I guess getting married to Chris Evert puts some spring back into his game and life.
And David Duval is tied for 3rd at 2 over.
BTW, Mickelson is at 9 over after 15 holes. I'm not sure he'll make the cut.
I know Mickelson leads with FedEx points right now (with Tiger out), but his performance at the Majors this year has been very disappointing.

Looks like I misread the scores. Mickelson is at 10 over after 7.
