Crabs and the "wood floor"

A friend and I were talking about this the other day. Can you get crabs if you are fully shaved? Can the little critters lay eggs on stuble?

Just one of those things that make you go, "Hmmmm."

PETERINA - Aren't those late night soul searching questions about life the universe and everything the BESTEST!

I'm sure you know that "crabs" are really lice that live in pubic hair and live off blood. (They can also be found in underarms, facial hair and evey eyebrows. Tenacious criters these lice.) Crabs sounds just mariginally more dignified than pubic lice.

Shaving should be effective as a preventative as if there is no pubic hair the crabs have no way of being there. (But be careful of other hairy areas)

Shaving is NOT a cure, and it willl not remove all the eggs.

One final point, some other critters called scabies (related to lice), don't need public hair to attach. Actually, they burrow beneath the skin instead of clinging to the hair.
