i wish i could've been there, but my brother got in a serious car accident and family always comes first...i hope every one had fun....

he's in stable condition at the ICU at Jersey Shore medical...everything is going to be ok...they're monitoring him for possible spleen failure but they say there's only a 15% chance of that...

just goes to show you never know....so as corny as it sounds...WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT and drive safe...the seat belt and airbag saved my brother's life...

here are some pics of his car....

Holy shit, hope everything turns out okay.

I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt, doesn't matter if I'm just going around the block, safety is important.

Really sorry about your brother,
man. The most awful thing
happened this year, in my senior
year of high school, a student
died in a car accident just weeks
before graduation. Life is fragile
and sometimes things like this
wake us up to realize what really
matters. My deepest regards
and good luck to your brother on
a sucessful recovery.

Jeff, I'm sorry about your brother. Fuck old people for living too long, and fuck them twice for driving.

Here's hoping your brother gets better ASAP. When he gets out, drinks are on me.

Update

He's still in the hospital, still in ICU. They're monitoring his spleen. Today he's supposed to start walking around to see if walking aggravates the spleen. If it doesn't he should be released by tuesday. If it does, he has to have it removed.

The cop came by yesterday...even though my brother hydroplaned and it wasn't really his fault, he's being charged with careless driving, which I believe is a 4 point ticket.

So in addition to the total loss of his vehicle, the injuries of the other person, and a sever moving violation, our family is going to be paying out the asshole to keep him in a car so he can have a job.

What really sucks is my brother is part of a semi pro baseball league and a fierce athlete, and he's not allowed to do ANY strenuous exercise for three months, which means his baseball career this year is shot.

The sweetest thing happened yesterday though...his girlfriend came to see him..and she stayed with him all night, and before she left she kissed him on the forehead and said "i love you", which my brother had been waiting on for months.

Silver lining on an otherwise shitty weekend for him I guess...

Thanks for all your support guys. I appreciate the emails and the im's and the posts here. I knew you guys would be supportive, that's why I posted this here...and I needed it.

I had to retreive his personal articles from that wreckage and take the pictures for the lawyer...my brother's blood was all over the car...check out that pic of the airbag, that's blood in it...anyway when I went to retrieve his personal belongings his blood smeared all over my hands and arms...it was the freakiest experience ever...

cherish your loved ones people..my brother was a really lucky guy...it could've gone either way...

hey jeff, really sorry to hear about your brother, good thing there was no one on the passenger side, and that the car wasn't one of those cars in england where the driver sits on the passenger side after seeing those pictures.

in my senior
year of high school, a student died in a car accident just weeks
before graduation.

yea this was a school year for us to. We ended up having 5 deaths, one was a car accident that took the lives of a brother and a sister, and the other 3 were suicides. Not to mention the tornado towards the end of the schoolyear that took out alot of the students and teachers homes. next year can't help but be a better year.

Awwwww, I just love good things that come out of bad situations. That is just the sweetest cutest thing ever, and it's not fake like out of a tv show or movie....god I love it.

Well strength is on your brother's side since he is a great athlete. I'm sorry to hear his career this summer will be ruined, but next year I'm sure he'll come back better than ever.

My thoughts are with your family. Let us know how things work out on Tuesday.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, Jeff. Although I don't like hospitals, JSMC is one of the best in the area- they'll fix him up right.

Contest the ticket, by all means. Talk with the prosecutor in the court. Since he suffered worse injuries than the other driver, he may be able to plead it down to a lesser fine/no points.

I had someone from out of state turn right from a left-hand lane in front of me (I was 1 car-length back and in the right hand lane) I got the ticket- contested it and it was reduced to "littering" because of the glass and stuff on the road. I paid $100 plus court cost and no points. Definitly get that lawyer to work! I wish him luck with his recovery.
