I work for a cell phone company, all day long all i
get is people bitching about how the phones i sold
them ruined their life and all that stuff. i personally
have never had a problem with my bill i couldn't fix
with a short phone call, or a phone die out. i mean i
have people claiming their phones spontainiously
combusted, attacked them and then raped their
daughters. i mean what the hell? anybody have
cell phone horror stories that AREN'T THEIR
FAULT??

I have about a billion cell phone complaints involved Worldcom in particular. No wonder the stock is at a dollar or so.
I've since cancelled that plan, but I had many problems with my bill, constant problems with service, and none of it was my fault. I was charged for things that I never signed up for, that were not on my contract, and that weren't even features on my phone. I constantly called the company, but never could clear up problems without a huge production.
ANd it wasn't only the stupidy of the company's customer service, but the incredibly long hold time. I'm sorry, but holding for more than 30 min is excessive, but at times it was over at hour! That's too long, and that is something that I would definitley complain about.
But now I"m with Verizon, whose CS has been very good. They charged me for mobile web which i didn't ever sign up for, and they cleared it up quickly and easily.

If I owe worldcom...lets sa 1200 dollars, and they file for bankruptcy...do I still owe them 1200 dollars?

worldcom is the devil.
and yes you still owe them the money... but look at
your contract, or request a copy of it. if its not
totally filled out, you're all set, and you can
retroactively cancel your service in most cases......

What I hear is that AT&T is buying out a percentage of MCI Worldcom's cell phone customers who have had service from there or who currently do. I'm not sure whether they've got a major chunk of em or just a smaller amount though.
The reason I saw that is that I got a call from someone at AT&T asking if I still had service, and telling me that they were buying out former contracts through WOrldcom...

only complaint i have is i have been getting prank phone calls on my cell phone, on the caller id it says blocked number when i pick up no one answers and att says that cell phones are not set up like land lines where you can not accept blocked calls so i get these calls like threee times a day. Now i am jut not going to pick them up or if i do i will pick up and quickly hang up....so it sucks

at&t cannot buy a percentage of MCI's customers.
MCI owns those numbers (well they lease them
from verizon, who operates their service). MCI
service is just verizon service resold.... but AT&T
uses the same technology as voice stream (sort of)
and cingular. they are all looking to merge. but
thats enough boring crap, just thought i'd let u
know...
