How do you handle the cops?

I was just wondering if any of you had a system for getting out of a speeding ticket?

I'd like to hear a mock scenario with a valid PBA card, an expired PBA card, and no PBA card, if possible.

What do you say, how do you act, what DON'T you say...how do you give him the card...and when...etc.

For me it is real easy...to get out of a ticket in the first place I use my bro's PBA card (NYPD 52), my father's MTA PBA card (Formerly the TBTA), I have PBA cards for the area that I live and several for N. Jersey. So for me it is a pick em when I get pulled over...

Now if the cop insists on giving me a ticket, or I get a ticket for where I am parked, more than likely around me, I will call a friend who is very high in local PD. His uncle is the town supervisor, which is like Mayor, only with a broader range of powers and Larger area to control. Or I give the tick to my pops who knows how to beat em all...Be honest I have had a few doozies over the years, and knock on wood, have no points or anything on my license. The most I ever paid was 40, but the trial date was two years later, so the trooper didnt give an f...

my best freind's uncle is capt of K troop, NYS
troopers. if i get a ticket from a trooper i call uncle
al, and say i got a ticket. he quickly calls the
trooper who doesn't show for court and then
doesn't refile the ticket. that simple. also helps
that 1/2 my family is local cops, so they see the last
name and make the connection.

I had got a ticket 2 DAYS before my 21st B-DAY!!! for driving BEHIND a cop(long story)....I am not one of those girls who does the giggly laugh or the hair flip or the batting of the eyes....YEA I WISH I HAD IT GOOD LIKE THAT..LOL....So now i gotta go to traffic court to settle this friggin ticket...BLAH

The best thing to do in MOST cases, is just be honest and polite. If you lie, they're gonna find out anyway. I've been let off of tickets just for being honest and courteous and showing respect. Also, when you get pulled over, turn off your ignition, roll down your window, and turn on the interior light before he gets to your car. It shows you're not going to drive off, and you have nothing to hide. If you make a cop feel safer as he approaches the vehicle, it helps to put him at ease.

If that doesn't work, or doesn't seem like it's going to be enough to get me out of doing 95 in a 50, I'll go for the "Ace in the hole".

When handing my license, registration and insurance card, at the same time wedged in there is a business card from a State Trooper friend of mine. On the back, he had handwritten "Please extend courtesy to my good friend (my name), as I would do for you. Thanks in advance." And then he signed it and put his badge # and cel #. Providing I'm not in real trouble, it helps a LOT.

Of course this only works with a State Trooper. If it's a local, I'm in trouble. Then I just gotta make sure I keep my eyes open and don't moan so it's not gay.

I'm with Skidmark on this. Especially the Honesty and politeness. ("no i didnt" and "dont u have anything better to do?" translate to "please write me as many tickets as possible")And he's dead on about how to hand over your pba card, with all your documents as requested. Let the officer find it himself, u dont have to present it like "tada!" I and every cop i know would accept a current, valid pba card (or signed business card) from any county, city or state in the union. But just understand that having one is NOT a guarantee of not getting a ticket. But it helps.

Well since i used to work for a pd and I have a chiefs card...PBA card and my old ID still as well as my badge...I rarely get a ticket nowadays.

I've only been pulled over once so I don't have much experience. I was just polite, didn't cry, didn't flirt and he gave me a warning (I was going 78 in a 65) He was either in a good mood or I have big boobs so that might have helped too :)
