I don't really have a point or a
purpose here, but listening to
this best-of tonight makes me
miss the days of Joe Poo and Al.
Of course Al's departure was far
more recent, so it doesn't quite
apply... but I feel like when Joe
Poo was on the show, the show
had a different vibe... classic
times. I know it'll never happen,
but I still gotta say BRING BACK
JOE POO!!!!!!!!!! His classic voice
was such a defining part of the
show. It was funny to have a
guy on the show who sounded
like Filburt from Rocko's Modern
Life. I think what I'm getting at is
basically just the fact that R&F,
now that they are becoming
bigger and bigger in New York
every day, they are shedding the
skin of the old late night days.
They don't have that
underground "reef" feel anymore.
Yes, that can be a good thing,
and it probably is, but that also
takes a little away from what
made me such a fan of these
guys in the first place. Poo ruled.
And so did Al. But I guess it's
time for a new era of R&F as they
move further away from a niche
show and closer into a more
mainstream audience. If you
read this, you probably wish you
didn't...sorry. I'm done.
