Check it out.
I hope they scrap this idea, that concept is awful. Cylinders? That thing is going to stick out like a sore thumb on the skyline. I can see it now...opening day...Stallone on his flying scooter firing "double whammies" screaming "I am the law", only this time, Rob Schneider won't be there for plucky comic relief.

It's a nobel act, but it looks crappy, Id rather see just the same old towers, the way they were.

It looks pretty sick, with a touch of sci-fi to it. You never know how something will look until it's actually done. I personally think it's a great design, but I agree with you, it wouldn't work with the New York City skyline. <P>

Way too big and will block too much of the sun.

Reminds me of an episode of Newsradio where Jimmy James designs a huge double J building.

This may sound really corny but i think they should rebuild the old towers minus the original interior architecture since it cannot be done due to fire codes today- BUT build a smaller building like an annex for like a "living" memorial with granite or marble walls or plaques sorta BUT not really like the Vietnam Memorial remembering all those loved ones lost in the attacks

Nice reference!

That was a great show that unfortunately died along with Phil Hartman. But that was a good episode.

Sorry. I went way off the subject. Please continue on, nothing to see here.

I'm partial to the "middle finger" design that was circulated around the internet shortly after the attack.

What's with the Twin Peaks music? Oh, I get it I guess..odd. Anyway..lets remember that when the original towers were built, no one gave them high praise for beauty. I never thought they were much to look at...until one day they were gone. I've always said we should build em bigger and better. This plan does that. I think it looks cool--very 21st century. I also like the idea of the memorial park and the trees...but I also think they should add a name wall, similar to the vietnam vets memorial. I'm really not ready for this (I feel like Peter the cryer). I hate that it happened, I hate thinking about it, but I like knowing there are people out there looking to the future. Someday, hopefully, I'll be able to do the same. Thanks for the post--I like the idea. I'm rambling..lol..punching out.

Hi Godzilla, come on in and smash our towers that look like that temple you always seem to smash in every one of your movies...

I've seen worse ideas. I like the idea that it would be the tallest building in the world, which should always be in the good ole U.S. of A., not some rinky-dink asian country.

I really like the idea. Any idea that brings the world's tallest building back to NY I am totally for, no matter how ugly.

Did you read the kook's idea for defense against aircraft and other airborne menaces? A SONIC GUN that shoots ultrasonic waves. Where the fuck is he buying that? Cogswell Cogs?

Did you read the kook's idea for defense against aircraft and other airborne menaces? A SONIC GUN that shoots ultrasonic waves. Where the fuck is he buying that? Cogswell Cogs? Not only that, but he suggests a "5-mile no-fly zone" around Manhattan. Has this guy ever been to the tri-state area? Doesn't he realize that there are 3 MAJOR AIRPORTS within 20 miles of this site and that the usual patterns of aircraft into Newark alone would put planes within 1 mile of Manhattan constantly?

Sure, let's fuck up the busiest airspace in the US and shoot "sonic beams" at the planes.

he's probably never been in the area before, though the sonic gun is the stupidest thing i have ever heard....

It looks like the building that Ann Jillian worked in on the sitcom It's A Living.
