For sneakers, I designed some god-awful black and red ones at customatix.com. It's unusual for me to wear them, as I prefer shoes. I bought some nice Steve Madden ones a couple of weeks ago. Before that I was big into Doc Martin's, but not the boots.

Adidas shell-toes, without exception. Black with white stripes or white with black stripes, always with thick laces. I will never wear another shoe. I will wear them under my wedding dress, I will wear them in my coffin. They are the life force. Ask RUN DMC.

Reebok Classics, in white. They're comfy, they're simple, and the thought of all those 5 year old starving Indonesian kids stitching my footwear in poorly-equipped sweatshops when they should be going to school makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside. In the summer it's almost always sneakers, so I go with Airwalks or Skechers. I like workboots too, I had an awesome pair of GBX boots and I actually had a pair of regular Mack steeltoe workboots that were more comfortable than any pair of shoes I've ever had. They got destroyed by my dog though.

New Balance makes great shoes, but their shoes have a lot of cushion in the heel, which is good for people who are prone to pronate (roll their ankles in) when they walk/run. Personally I have the opposite problem (my ankles roll out), so they don't necessarily work as well for me.
<img src="http://www.sierratradingpost.com/eccStoreFront/stp/product_images/60895/T_60895_1.jpg">
Personally I wear the Salomon Raid Winds which aren't exactly a sneaker, more like a sneaker/trail shoe with very aggressive treads made from contragrip, which I have found to be the best rubber for hiking shoes as it has extremely good grip, especially when it's wet, and is also far more durable than most other sticky rubbers. The only thing is the stupid plastic eyelets which snap all the time. Luckily Salomon will replace these for free, and I bought them at EMS so all I have to do is take the shoes back to the store. Last time I did it they actually just gave me a new pair so I wouldn't have to wait for the other ones to get sent back to Salomon.

To me? I have two pair; one still really cool cutting edge Nikes, circa 2002, color white, and one other pair of Nikes, circa 2000, color black mostly. To you? I think a pair of Keds will be fine.

Huh? Uh, wait...what?

I haven't worn vans in about 4 years. Typically though, i go for the skate shoes just because they're comfortable, durable and i like the styles they come in. So DC and Etnies are good but I've been wearing Globes for the past couple of years.

I don't wear sneakers. I do own a pair of New Balance sneakers, but they're at my Dad's place and I've probably worn them once this year. In the summer, I have a pair of platform sandals that are my everyday shoe, and in the winter I wear heeled boots almost every day. I give it another 5 years before I have permananent Barbie foot from wearing heels every day

Just gathering some thoughts/ideas on what type of shoe I should be wearing at my age. I am 26.

I'm looking for casual type shoe. Ones that I can wear with shorts or with jeans.
Kinda just to be casual kickin around type shoes.

I have the norms. Dress shoes, then casual/dress shoes for like going to dinner/bar.

But I really don't know what type of shoe I should be wearing when I'm just hangin out.

I have like I said my dress shoes, my casual dress shoes, my gym shoes, flip flops for hot weather or just with shorts.

What are you guys wearing for kicks?

New Balance, Saucony and Rockport are made from lasts based on actual average american foot widths. Speaking of which, Rockport actually make a good boat shoe with decent support. (I own a pair)

No not at all, just have to look around. My DC's never cost me more than $40 a pair, my 35th anniversary shell tops were about $55, and my adi-racers were about $40 a pair. I have others but I buy maybe 2 pairs of shoes a year and I take care of them so I get years out of them while they stay somewhat fresh.

Just go to a store and look at the shoes and find ones that you like. Done.

I yanked them off her and it got her and I excited all the more. I was 22 and she was 16. It was a weird summer. Whenever I see those sneakers it gets my mind wandering, so please excuse me.
