PLEASE don't get too swept up in the whole "How many posts do I have" phenomenon. It doesn't mean DICK! Sure, you feel like you're part of the crowd when you get a new status, but in general, it's just a counter.

People will respect you for your POSTS, not the number next to your name. Wory about post Quality, not Quantity.
