Fiesty, I can understand what you're saying, and to a degree I agree with you. Sexual behavior is certainly more relaxed now than it has been in a while. The question that I have is who are these people that you're discussing this with? Anyone that I would, seriously, discuss my sexual behavior with (a total of about 2 people) is someone that would already know and understand my motivations for what I do or don't do.
In today's sexual climate, you have to expect some disbelief at the status of your hymen. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I think you should be commended for resisting the tremendous pressure, but if you're strong enough to abstain from sex, I think you're strong enough to take a little ribbing about it.

i dated my wife and was engaged for a total of 3 years... she kept her virginity til the wedding night and I never pressured her...
not saying if it's right or wrong, but from my experience it could be done...
we're married over 16 years and remain happy and committed...

But seriously - if waiting is what you want, then that's exactly what you should do. Some people think that sex is the absolute pinnacle of existence, life revolves around it - though biologically, that may be true... our society has grown to be a lot more than our biology can dictate.

Now for those hopeless romantics of us out there, the meaning of this story is that there is only one perfect person for us and it is our life's purpose to find that other part of us to make us complete.
