alright here's the deal.
Sutton Place,
on 2nd ave between 52nd and 53rd. Saturday August 17th.
9:30 or so

my birthday is on the 19th (ronfez mark can confirm this) and i want all of you 21 + to come out. i want all the kids to come too but i don't think you can get in.

i'm saying the summer is almost over and a night at a bar with you guys would be the best way to end it. I want board members, board member's friends (like you have any), brothers, sisters, fondling priests, etc.

it's a nice bar and it's pretty big and we should all get shitfaced. you have about a week in advance so make it happen. write here if you're down to go. whether you have 1 post or 6000 (goddamn ronfezmark needs a life) you're invited, so let's do it do it!!

A little story, if I may be allowed. Deep inside, I'm a shy person. I guess it's a confidence thing. I'm no good at starting conversations, I hate small talk. Meeting new people, introducing myself at least, is not my forte. But I decided fuck it, go to the bar. It's the Rf.net crowd. They're cool as hell, you'll have a good time. So I did. I drove into the city, partly because I love driving in the city (it's as close to doing a NASCAR or Indy lap as I'll ever get) and partly because I figured there'd be others flying solo like myself and it's much better to get a ride home after a night out than have to take that drunked train ride home alone. I get into the city, put my car in a lot just around the corner, and head to the bar. I approach and the bouncer, BN we'll call him, starts to shake his head.
"Uh Huh," BN says. "You can't come in here with that T-Shirt on. Proper attire is a collared shirt or a dark T-shirt with no lettering."
"Proper attire?" I think to myself. "Is there a place around here I can get one at this hour?" I say out loud
"I don't know where it is," BN responds, "but there must be. People leave and come back dressed properly all the time."
So I spend the next 45-60 minutes looking for an open store to buy a shirt. I go to an all night Duane Readee, but no luck. I ask a hotel doorman, he doesn't know either. I even considered buying one off a homeless man, but that seemed a little drastic for the situation. Finally I broke down and asked a gentleman on the street if he was willing to sell me his. He politely said, "No thank you," and ran away.
The point I'm trying to make is all this could have been avoided if somebody, anybody, had mentioned the little dress code this establishment had. I'm not an animal. I do own collared shirts, quite a few actually. And I have no problem wearing one. Part of the deciding factor in me going out tonight was that I'm probably not going to make it to the Feztival next week, a close friend is getting married on Saturday, and I wanted to meet and chill with my buddays from the message board. I didn't get that opportunity, since nobody mentioned, THE FUCKING DRESS CODE!!!. That's it. Thank you. A little long I know, but after tonight's events I think I'm allowed.

I know how you feel Blakjeezis (although we didn't drive as far) ----Fatty -We wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday and enjoy a few drinks - sorry we couldn't -- we arrived around 11:45 - but because I was wearing a kind of "ripped styled" pants look - I was told the owner has a strict dress code - Finally, the bouncer at the door said go ahead in but if any of the other bouncers see me dressed thay way I was (& basically I was dressed like a rocker) - they would escort me out --- & believe me - I was dressed better than some other patrons walking in --- Only because of my "look" was where the problem occurred - Oh well, stuff happens - Happy Birthday !!!! We were able to send someone in to check if anyone looked familiar but the place was packed -- Just wanted to say "hi" along with Helen & another female friend --- We should try again soon --- Mikey D

now that the word's out on my stature and ghetto booty status, i think i'm gonna go hide The face and the body works just fine for me.If you go hide ill hunt you done like i once hunted down this girl that i knew....scratch that it came out wrong!

buddays,
thanks for the best time last night. to blakjeezis and everyone who had trouble with the dress code i am TRULY sorry, i really didn't know.

the truth about this place was that i was going there by a reference by a friend, he said it's 3 floors and it's a lot of college kids and it's a really cool atmosphere, he told me nothing about the dress code. so i really am sorry about blowing it on that.

other than that though it was the best time ever. also sorry for getting there so late, i had my sisters party earlier and got out later than i thought. but i was so fucked up, i've been hung over all day.

i know this place wasn't a place many of you liked but you came out which is what shows how much you guys rock. i hope everybody had the best time and i can't wait to party with you guys again.

Happy Birthday, and it was great that some of the .netters got together to get you drunk, but you seemed to be well on your way by the time you arrived. That's OK, it made it easier for us.

The couches on the 2nd floor rocked, but I think that 3rd floor needs some kind of disclaimer.

Ari - sorry I didn't say goodnight, but RRW was too damn crowded, and next time I'll make a point of it.

Gwen- I wasn't mad at you or anything, I just can't hear too well when the music is blasting. I made out like 50% of what everyone was saying at RRW.

E2R, it was cool to hang out with you- relax and talk more. You coo like dat.

Fig now has to wear that shirt at other get-togethers so people can "feel" it.

Everyone else, I had a blast and it's always cool to meet new people, like Cybersoldier. It's always good to put a face to a name. It was nice meeting you CS and hope to see you at some other hang-outs.

I won't be at the R&R because I'll be in North Carolina on Thursday. Have fun.
