A little gambling: When will O&A be back?

Some people say they'll be back within 10 days (that's what a dude said on CNN's Talkback Live) and other feel that this has ruined their career forever.

I think they'll definitely be back within the next month. After all they're the #1 show in NY and in a few weeks from now NO ONE will give a fuck about what happened on Aug. 16th in St. Pats. The Catholic League will be bitching about something else and by next week all the networks will be back talking about Saddam.

Same goes for Ron & Fez if they should be forced to leave. They'll stay in NY (heck, they got a plate @ the Brooklyn Diner). Can anyone say Q104?

I definatly think that O clearchannel should sweep them up and strike while the iron is hot. They could probably get them cheap and O and A ' s rating would be huge because of the buzz that this incident has made Q 104.3 Chick Mornings O and A afternoons sounds like ratings

I have to agree with that. These things take time to get worked out - contracts, time slots, changing the new stations schedule, etc. Don't forget that if O & A are going to be put into a time slot, that means whatever jock is in that time slot now gets moved. So it doesn't just happen overnight. And once they do get signed, the new station is going to probably want to promo them for a few weeks before they debut. I'd say to look at November as the earliest they'd be back on somewhere. So that's my bet. <P>

If O&A come back on the air it won't be in NYC. They might get syndicated into NYC, but right now there is no station where they fit.

Forget Q104, they are not going to add another talk show, they have daid that forever. Their ratings have stayed flat with the radio chick, and Q104 is already thinking of dumping them.
Why pay three people when you can pay one to spin records.

Can anyone think of a statoin where they would fit in NYC(dont include any Infinity stations, because that aint gonna happen)

They won't be back on in NY for a while. Their whole deal with Infinity has to be settled. If they keep paying them, they can't go on the air ANYWHERE!

It's all over the net how they will end up back in Boston with no syndication deal, starting from the bottom up.

MY bet is clear channel will pick them up within 3 months tops, I also doubt the boys will want to start anywhere else other than Market 1, NYC, although broadcasting out of Boston or Philly and syndication to NYC would work to. Am I the only one who would like to hear an Un-dumped version of R&F and O&A on XM, it could be the Monsters of the Midday followed by O&A and R&F, it's not exactly syndication but if clear channel picks them up it would be nice.

I bet they have a non-compete that goes with whatever (huge) settlement they get which will block them from NYC airwaves for 6 months. But there was mention on the opieanthony.com board to another post from Brother Joe that implied they'd be on in the mornings, so Q104.3 against Hoo Hoo sounds like the most logical place they'd end up...man NEW has really missed an opportunity to cash in on all the hoopla but the suits are so middle of the road that they were probably afraid that the national advertisers would all pull out of the show. This Extreme Talk format is still kind of below the radar of the "regular" talk crap like Rush, so going after national advertisers is a tough sell...

I think everyone on here are forgetting that this is the ron and fez message board. Opie and anthony's stunt probally will cost ron and fez their jobs. wnew's ratings even with opie and anthony are one of the worst in nyc, thats a fact. You can look it up. Now with them gone nobodys going to listen to tom lykis and the rating are going to drop to the bottom giving what wnew wants anyway, a reason to drop talk radio.
