Real Dodgeball League
Rules so far. September 8th, 2002
-Games will be best 2 sets out of 3.
-7 players on each team on playing field.
-Substitutions are only to be made by calling a time-out when your team has possesion of the ball.
-Full Contact.
-Postponing a game due to weather conditions will be made prior to game time.
-Game begins with a Jump Ball (similar to basketball) to decide possesion.
-No unessecary roughness during jump ball.
-No player may cross dividing line between both teams.
-2 referees will be assigned to ensure fair play.
-Set ends when all players on one team are eliminated.
-1 ball will be used during play.
-Players will not be paid for playing (Sorry guys, I'm not Ted Turner).
-Uniform constrictions are as of now very leniant, players are allowed to customize their own uniforms or if not are permitted to wear street clothes.
-If a team cannot produce 7 players by the time the game starts you team forfeits the game and your opponents get the win.
-If a player steps over dividing line, the referee will give 1 warning to player if the player repeats the act, then he/she will be ejected from the game and their team will have to compete with 6 players.
-If a player is hit by the ball his/her teammate catches it before it hits the ground then said player still in the game, but if it ricochet off him and lands in the hands of his/her opponent before hitting the ground, said player is eliminated.
Other Misc. Stuff
I'm aiming to create 2 divisions with at least 4 teams, 7 at most.
I also just want to keep games mainly in the Northern New Jersey area.
