If you were listening to this caller, Alan Combs went on to list many muslim groups that are vehemently against terrorism. the belief that Islam wants to destroy all non-believers is an urban myth born out of a mis-interpretaion of the jyhad (a closer interpretation is that "all enemies of islam must be destroyed", not "all non-believers").

And I dare anyone to ask me if I have studied Islam or the Q'aaran, because yes, I have.

this is what happens when you confuse religion with politics. Their hatred is political, but their leaders like Saddam are manipulating their religion to fire up that hatred and to stir them to action.

Remember, this is not a religious war, this is a <b>political war<b/>. The leaders are just using a skewed interpretation of Jyhad as an excuse.

Maybe people just hear what they want to hear. America is indeed a country of many colors, but for whatever reason, most of those colors tend to keep to their own. Most of this board is white...how often to spend time with people of other races on a fulltime regular basis?

I spent my life through high school growing up overseas, where I was always the minority. I never heard the hate or the ugliness, outside of the usually school bullshit. My first girlfriend was Pakistani. My third girlfriend was Iranian. So again, it's all in what people want to hear, and all that they're allowed to hear. What's the news going to show at night? The hundreds of millions of Arabs and Muslims simply going about their lives, or the relative minority that yell and shout at America, and burn flags, and blow up things in suicide attacks? It's the same reason why Eminem sells tens of millions of records and some quite, introspective socially-concious rapper is lucky to push 5,000.

It's actually a practice among the lowest classes in areas of Egypt, Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia and Mali. It's barbaric, but hardly a reason to damn an entire people, especially when it stems from practices started during the slave trade, and not the Muslim faith.

FGM is a cultural/ethnic practice, not a geographical one.7 Within a country, some groups may practice it, but not others. Each group may have different practices regarding the actual physical procedure and the reasons for which it is done.
