Yes, its that time of year, where my ex bf/fiance ((yes, i was that stupid for a few months)) is trying to make a comeback in my life. I dont know why I let him come back each time, when I know only bad things come out of this. I've thrown him out a window naked ((we were almost caught in the act)), he's left me out in the cold all night, and he's got this love/hate thing for me that's borderline psychotic. Last I saw him, we went to a movie and dinner, but he told me how I was a waste of his time and how I'm a worthless human being. And now he and I started IMing each other again, and he wants to try things "again" ... this will be about the 4th or 5th time we'd be trying to date. is there a reason that people always get weak and let people that hurt them so bad back into their lives?

i guess whats making it easier not to fall into the trap this time is having someone around who really cares about me. but i know if i didn't have the new guy, i'd be already with the ex, regretting it all over again

this isn't really a thread for seeking advice of what to do, since its pretty obvious, i just needed to vent.

jeez.. those ex's are horrible. If you were meant to be with him, he wouldn't be your ex. Can't you just avoid him? He doesn't really sounds like a nice person, so being friends with him doesn't sounds like an option.
Just concentrate on your guy, and forget about that ex..

I guess it is a matter of understanding that these types of relationships can just go on forever if you just don't cut them off. Believe me, I know I was in one for almost 7 years. Just remember that you could be meeting other more suitable guys while you are with him.

I think I mentioned this on the board before, but I actually had a friend of mine who dated a guy for 15 YEARS. She met him when she was 28. He was 52. He was a divorced, older man who had NO INTENTIONS on remarrying. She dated him anyway. 15 years later, she was still unmarried and gave up her childbearing years to this guy.
