No bad blood? I remember 2 episodes of BAD BLOOD.

1- a DRUNK and still unfunny Don and Mike stumbled into Ron and Fez's studio after a thrilling night of BOWLING, and proceded to take over the show. THey were awful, and completely threw off the show,draining the comedy from the air.

2- When the O&A fight started with them, I remember Don and Mike shooting an offhand comment to Ron and Fez about how "Riding the coat tails of O&A Wasn't a very smart career move." This is of course bullshit, because we see that Ron and Fez exist just fine without O&A. It was just an added plus that both shows could add to each other.

I also just remembered Don or Mike saying Fez's mike smelled like man ass when they were in NYC one show.

So FUCK THEM TO HELL AND BACK. Actually, just one way.

Ok, so I know this was going to come up sooner or later. Ugh, how I hate to admit that I listen to Don and Mike, but I do. There, I said it and I feel sick. Not that I think they are funny but it is something and some of the conversation is ok. Anyway, the way I look at it with Ron and Fez being at a live remote from WJFK now is this: Don and Mike much like our pals Opie and Anthony were NATIONWIDE! Repeat, NATIONWIDE! Soon the fans from all the other cities (and I am being damn optimistic here) will be like "Who are Ron and Fez?" and it could mean in the long run maybe getting syndicated to one city and then another and then another. I have been sending emails through the WYSP site nightly and got a response the other week. It was from Spike and he said there are no plans to bring Ron and Fez to Philly. Well, it doesn't mean one cannot try, right? So on the bright side that is what could maybe come out of this. It looks to me like Ron and Fez don't burn any bridges anywhere they go and I am looking really forward to hearing how they get treated on Don and Mike tomorrow. Being here in Central Jersey WYSP comes in really really good. Those stations for the shit they play on it sure as hell have a strong signal. I am really gonna try not to read into anything or figure out if there is any schmoozing going on. I know there won't be on Ron and Fez's part but Don and Mike, I don't know about. Should be interesting.
Don and Mike have also been dropping O & A stuff here and there and most times in a very negative light. Apparently yesterday the New Orleans station (remember Tom?) switched format and O & A were mentioned quite a bit. Not in a negative way but almost like D & M were blaming them for the station switching format. F'ed up shit.

Drop the shit. I think the DC listeners on this board have proven that we don't blindly follow along with whatever local trends are supposedly defining us.

The only reason D&M are so huge here is because they've been the ONLY drive-time show for a good decade now. It's kind of hard to not be #1 when you have no competition in the talk field. We're packed with talk shows from 5 AM until about 10 AM, but from then on it's pretty much a talk-wasteland. People who don't want to hear the same 10 songs on the radio apparently turn to hear D&M. While I personally can't listen, I can see why so many would want to, and I don't let it bother me. Plus I'm not blind enough to see that regardless of who they are, D&M are R&F's best shot at getting syndicated, and let's be honest, just staying on the air period. WJFK obviously, and smartly, realized, "hey, that's a great show coming out of NY. Let's grab it!"

Whether they actually mean it or not (And frankly, as long as they push R&F on air, I couldn't give a damn), D&M and WJFK as a whole are finally supporting R&F down here and trying to spread them to a larger audience. THAT'S the only important part, and anything else is petty bullshit that doesn't even matter.

There's not going to be a "feud" between the shows because R&F aren't stupid. They still focus on their SHOW instead of their egos. Look how D&M basically gave up in NYC and lashed out as their show tanked. Pathetic. R&F have been riding a sinking ship with their heads held high, still putting out the best shows they can. Both O&A and D&M couldn't and can't shut the hell up about the boring behind the scenes politics and petty in-fighting at their stations. R&F concentrate on the fact they have a RADIO SHOW, where their job is to ENTERTAIN. They don't pick fights and take cheap shots like D&M and O&A, so why would there be any problems?

You subtract the raging, bloated egos of Don Geronimo and Opie Hughes from the equation, I don't really see a problem.

So to set the record straight, I ignore D&M, miss O&A, but really don't even bother comparing the two to the awesomeness of R&F. Does this mean I can be scary-smart like all you neat-o NY and NJ listeners?

Don and Mike's lack of talent has nothing to do with O and A. I thought they sucked even when O and A and Don and Mike were pals in the begining. I gave them a chance. OK, i think its time for me to jump up on my soap box.

1. Ron and Fez dont need Don and Mike to promote them, they have proven themselves to be great on tape delay numerous times.

2. Don and Mike wont take shots at RnF for being friends with OnA, mainly because much of the Ron and Fez audience listens to Don and Mike aswell.

3. Mike impressions suck, his bold voice is easily identifiable. Anthony is much better, and his jokes are extremely funny, considering he most likely makes teh jokes up on the spot, something Mike cant do very well.

4. Don and Mike give Ron and Fez a great lead-in, this is a huge ratings boost for WJFK, so it is vital that the two shows get along.

5. Ron and Fez simply kick ass.

1. That was not bad blood. In your opinion, it may have been bad radio, but R&F allowed it to continue and there was no on-air hostility between them.

2. Don & Mike called R&F "Creatures of the Night" when the possibility of moving them to middays came up. Don and Mike wanted the midday slot after the chick got fired the first time. At this time, R&F were still on overnights and D&M were the first to suggest moving them to 7-11. I would have to agree that R&F are more suited for the night.

Wrong, they were Number 9, and when OnA took over the afternoon slot, they stayed at number 9 and occasionally 7. WHEN OnA were cancalled, WJFK plummeted to 17th, now they are 11th. So you can see there was a drop when OnA left, not to mention that DnM alone havent brought the station back to its "former" glory.

I just listened to R&F on D&M. First thing Don apologized for anything that was said in the heat of battle with O&A. He said he has always been a fan of R&F and they are the funniest thing on the radio. He also said that stations that don't get R&F are missing out on something special. The station asked them who did they want to follow them and they both said get R&F. Mike said he nows loves his ride home because they make him laugh his ass off. Don basically called for any radio staion that is looking to put something on after them that R&F would be the perfect fit. Nice to see D&M go to bat for the boys, no matter what you think of them. Too bad N.Y. never put them together, it would work alot better than Leykis.

I'm a N.Y. listener and I liked both O&A and D&M so don't speak for me.

As has been mentioned before, this is a R&F board. Does every thread have to be dominated by O&A? It's time for these people to either grow up or go to an O&A board if there are any left.

Maybe too good radio shows like OnA or RnF, but not to radio itself. They do rack up the ratings and that is the one simple reason why they are still in radio , to make money.

Reed sumed it up nicely , Ron and Fez have fought threw the tape delay and with everyone's support as well as Ron and Fez's talent they have made it live in DC.

They deserve the respect as any other great show would whether or not Don and Mike "help" Ron and Fez get good ratings. I know ratings and Don and Mike are reasons why Ron and Fez will become popular , but maybe Im selfish or maybe Im speaking on behalf of the board but...I don't think I want them to get too famous. I like the A.S.S. as it is.

That is why I am still not sure whether or not I like them from the overnights or in the 7-11 live slot.

It's called a lead-in audience. D&M are the show before R&F. You want as many listeners from one show to stay for the next to equal more ratings, which are more gooder in radio-land. It's just common sense.

D&M apologized on air for the stupid shit they said about R&F during the O&A debacle. I'm going to just let it lie there, and go back to only listening to and talking about R&F here. I suggest everyone else does the same, or get's the hell out. Go start a new board or something, since that always seems to work so well.

First of all that Greg and Acne thing is so goddamn unfunny it makes my balls shrink. DOn and Mike are miserable old codgers, Yes I wrote codgers, and as far as us NY crybabies, don and mike took up a whole fuckin week of radio to try and get back at OPIE AND ANTHONY and just came off looking like bitter asses way past their prime and wondering why they could only draw a .5 in the ratings in the biggest market.

Look guys, this is the nature of the business. Don and Mike get killer ratings in DC, WJFK has a very successful lineup. Ron and Fez can only thrive at a station that's promoted and run properly. That being said, I am a huge O&A fan and I hope they return soon. As for "feuds", most are not taken seriously in radio, it's good for ratings and are usually played up a bit. I do believe that the OA DM feud was real though. Now only if we can all focus on keeping Ron and Fez on the NY airwaves. Once WNEW changes formats they could be off the air here. What some of you need to remember is that not all R&F fans are rabid fans of O&A. Some of us are capable of forming an opinion about D&M without basing it on what O&A said about them. One of the things that I really like about R&F is that they generally avoid radio wars. They realize that, while burning bridges with other shows can make for great radio in the short term, they also realize that the long-term effects can be much more far-reaching. <P>

1. We liked Opie and Anthony.

A friend of mine was a huge O and A fan, and he said to me the other day that he likes the guy who replaced them (Leykis). I busted his balls, but I didn't go smash his radio. I made my opinion before I found out that O&A and D&M didn't like each other, or if it was just done for ratings. First off, I listend to D&M on the radio and honestly I might have chuckeled once. I did not find them hilarious and I gave them many chances. So my opinion is my own and not one that was given to me.

D&M is not for a NY audience, they do well in DC and more southern stations and maybe that's what they should stick to.

And as far as D&M and R&F being the same comedy wise...is that what Don or Mike said? I laugh out loud to R&F..I never did that with D&M. So, I hope R&F stay in NY they work really well off the NY audience.

and besides the fact that i'm in love with my girlfriend, i didn't say what i did to kiss silera's ass. i was impressed with her opinions and how she expressed them. it's easy to get angry and just argue bullshit but she spoke her mind clearly and i thought that was cool.

dc reed, i dont know how you can think both shows share the same audience. one show's cool and funny, and the other one makes you dread middle-aged-ness. did you see the photos of d&m's 'rally' against o&a? the one with 13 people? 13 HIDEOUS people? i'm not saying all of r&f's audience members are physical specimens, but i'm positive all of d&m's induce vomitting.


Good poiint but;

1. We arent New York, think it through, New York hated don and mike, D.C. adores them.

2. Why do Ron and Fez have a huge following in New York? The O+A lead in, im NOT saying they couldnt get publicity themselves, all im saying is that it helps that two 5 star calibur shows are on back to back. The same will happen here, when our sports guys were on after O+A, thier ratings dived, because the O+A following here was very small, but when they were after D+M, ratings shot up. Now that ron and Fez are on after a show that gets alot of listeners like D+M, they will get a huge lead in, much like the one they got in NY with O+A.

3. In D.C. Ron and Fez will share an Audience with Don and Mike. In New York they shared one with Opie and Anthony. So thats how the two shows will share an audience.

Just because D.C. posters such as Myself and Mojopin hate don and mike, it doesnt mean the rest of the Metro area does, they are legends here, but faliures in New york.

AS far as i see it, this is a great career move for the boys, they are now getting a lead-in from one of the top rated drive shows in D.C. much like in New York with O+A

Well, my Fatty comments had nothing to do with D&M at all (in fact that's the first thing my post said). I was just annoyed at seeing someone single-handedly declare a 'winner' of a bunch of peeps just talkin' shit (me included). Some like Don and Mike
Some like O and A
Some like Ron and Fez.

Some like only one or two of the above.

Needless to say, it's quite ok to have a difference of opinion, especially about a matter of personal taste.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - It's always OK to voice your opinions. It's not OK to take it to a personal level. It's more appropriate, for example, to say that you disagree with someone's opnion. It's even OK to challenge an opinion on factual matters, b/c this is a discussion. It's not ok to call someone an asshole b/c of their opinions.
