I only hear them live when I
am in NJ. I live in Philly but
work in NJ and got them live
during the day, but now only
hear the re-run's. I wish I
heard that Vegan show live.
I have been Vegan for like 9
years and could have
answered some questions.
I am not in bad shape from
lack of minerals and stuff.
As a matter of fact I am
training for the 2004
Olympic games. People
always jump to conclusions
because sometimes it is
hard to question things
about their life. Some of
those callers were crazy. I
would like to thank Ron and
Fez for not just dissing the
people that think different
then them. They joke about
it and all, but they don't
attack. Most talk format
show's, radio and tv are not
like that. It is fresh. Anyhow
good show guys.

cool, I read the intire post but only REALLY read the olympics thingy. I tend to do that. I'm guessing running, keep us updated.

Hey runnerkid - do you really train and take no protein supplements of any kind?

You must eat a hell of a lot of carbs, but I still don't see how a diet like that could be fulfilling in any way.

Tofu and Tempe and stuff
like that have a ton of
protein. Lot less fat too. So
your body can use it much
more efficiently. And it is a
balance. I have been
running forever and have
been vegan since high
school. You learn I guess.
Like some things just make
you feel weak and shitty.
Like I can't drink soda or eat
candy. Like once in a while
but the sugar kills me.
Some thing with empty
carbs like white bread, or
white pasta are bad for me
too. Mostly because I have
to get the most from my
meals, and eating that shit
does nothing for your body.
As long as I stay away from
a few things I am fine. I
have been running 100+
miles a week for the last 7
months, and have never felt
better. I know it is because
I have my diet figured out.

IrisJr., what were you
thinking about? I am gonna
try and run a fast 10K this
spring. That is what I am
training for right now. I am
gonna do one at Penn
Relays, and go out to
Stanford for one because it
seems like that is where all
the fast times are in the
10k. Then I am gonna train
for Chicago next summer. It
is in Oct. You have to run
2:22 to get in the Olympic
trials. I think I can do that.
The U.S. is stacked with
marathoner's now though,
so getting one of the 3
spot's is gonna be hard.
But hey...gotta try right??

6.126 (i think) miles is way different from 26.2 miles. But if you get in remeber to write ron and fez somewhere you can see on TV. And try to still be good in 2012 if the olympics comes here to NY.

runnerkid's right. i'm not a vegetarian, but I'd say that 1/2 of my meals are soy based. they are very healthy: high-protein, low carb, low fat.

Whoa! Man I'm sorry that'd be WAY too huge a chunk of my life spent running, I'd rather just get fat and unhealthy. I get bored sleeping, I cannot *begin* to imagine running that much. But that's me, do what makes ya happy, it don't make you a bad person. ;) <P>

Yeah the training is not fun.
Your whole life revoles
around it. It kinda sucks.
But it is what you have to be
willing to do if you wanna
get fast. And I love to
compete and hate to lose.
And I know that the 10k and
Marathon are very very
different, but the training is
not that off. Just need to up
my mileage to 120-130,
make my sunday run 25
insted of 18 and make my
tempo runs 15 or so at race
pace. It is just making the
time for the extra training
and getting more sleeprest.
I have been on TV a few
times in the last year but in
Philly. For the Broad Street
Run(10 mile), and for the
Philly Distance Run (half
marathon). If I wore some
ron & fez gear nobody
would get it cause it was
only broadcast in the Philly
market. It would be funny
though.
