If you're a great chef, can you ever be happy just eating a Hot Dog again?

I'm watching Iron Chef, and I was just thinking "Hey, what do these guys cook at thier house for their family?

Can they ever be happy just getting a Big Mac or slice again? Does everything HAVE to be some expensive 8 course meal?

I mean I know that I LOVE a good Italian meal or fine piece of Prime Rib, but if I need to I can just pick up a couple of Chili Dogs or 7-11 burrito on the run.

My husband is a chef and he
loves the hotdogs you get from
street vendors!

He makes really great meals at
home, but they're simple
everyday food, not 8 course
meals, but he does make his own
pasta and pizza dough.

I watch a lot of food tv and read cookbooks and stuff and more often than not the great chefs say they get sick of the fancy stuff they make and enjoy simple comfort food at home.

It's like working at a Carvel, you eventually get sick of ice cream I imagine. Some top chefs have mentioned that some of their favorites are simple broiled chicken or pastrami sandwich.

No way am I near being a great chef but i do like to cook the occasional nice dinner meal or breakfast like an Omelette or Waffles. Especially for the ladies. But there is just something about Hot Dogs (I like the Sabrett ones) that are easy and quick. Not to mention great with Sweet Hot Mister Mustard.
