Letter From The Radio Chick To Her Fans

Thanks for caring enough to check in here for the news. This is the truth behind our situation, and any other version that you may, or may not hear, will not be the truth.

We will no longer be at WNEW. The management has made a decision to move the line-up around and favor some lower-rated, less popular shows over ours. We were told the following by the General Manager, that our ratings are, again, and always have been strong. We've been the second best performing show on the station, after Opie and Anthony, and that we've been the "only other show that has worked" on the station outside of O & A, as well. That we've proven we can build an audience from nothing, not once, but twice and we've shown that our listeners will follow us, even to a more competitive time slot. However, other, for lack of a better word, "political" considerations are taking precedence over performance. A chain of events was set in motion a while ago, and for reasons having nothing to do with us, or our performance, we were to be the sacrificial lamb.

Frankly speaking, I was grateful the GM was at least being honest with us, instead of trying to concoct some bullsh** reason to justify their decision.

A lot of people are trying to contact Joel at Savethechick.com to organize another Save the Chick campaign. As grateful as we were to you the last time for your massive outpouring of love and effort, we don't want to be saved.

Working at WNEW has been like building a house on a fault line. You never know when the earthquake will come and destroy your hard work. We'd rather put all efforts, yours and ours, to finding a new home for the show in New York. At that time, we hope you'll once again be part of our "family", and spread the word about the show.

Butch, Chuck and I have loved doing this show with you, and for you, everyday. You have been so responsive, funny, and loyal, and we thank you. We hope to be doing it again with you soon.

I chat all the timew with the Chick either through email, IM, or phone and she is really hppy all this happened. WNEW is really mis managed if you look at them and to fire a show just to make a few crybabies happy is obserd. Ron and Fez will be ok just a time change and Don and Mike is going on right after those other losers.need I say more???

I used to like the chick's show. But once Chuck came the show went downhill so fast. He is so obnoxious. He knew EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING. Whenever any subject came up, he had already done it, lived it, said it, etc. Even when the Chick was doing her Chick on Chicks segment, within 30 seconds it would become ChUck on Chicks. He just couldn't keep his mouth shut. He rooned her show. He made it unlistenable (is that even a word?). And after her first firing, she just seemed too desperate. She tried to be outrageous (like filming that lame "porno" movie in her studio). And she just isn't outrageous. I think if she just stuck to being herself she would have been alright. When she was rehired, I really hoped she would have canned Chuck. But when he came back with her, it was the real beginning of the end.

You are so on point. I loved the show but I just could not take Chuck at all. He didn't seem to understand that he was the sidekick, not the host and it bothered me that she never seemed to put him in his place even when he would interrupt her to tell one of his corny stories. I hope she loses him wherever she ends up next.

Its amazing me the way Im reading some of these posts how rude they are. Its so immature to flip off at someone the way some of you people are doing. Obviosly she was a little bitter when her show ended so maybe she exagerated. People DO THAT. And if one of you hasn't been bitter and exagerated the truth to get a lil sympathy at one time or another, step up, Id like to see it.
You dont know her, you dont know whats going on inthere either. We can all hear from sources, reliable as they may be, but that doesnt mean we know exactly whats going on either. People hide shit real good when they want to.
She was real nice to me when I came in for my birthday and thats the image thats sticking wih me. She was really polite and sweet and just because her show isnt my favorite show on WNEW, that doesnt give me or anyone the right to start calling her these immature names that your spouting out.
I guess it shouldnt surprise me at all, but it did, and anyone who resorts to using names like that as insults instead of giving valid points is too ignorant in the first place, thus not having any valid points.
