they are still contracted by Infinity Broadcasting in DC.
so hopes of them ditching for XM may be far fetched

It's not like R&F are unemployed, they're just shifting within the company to DC.

Right, but XM carries some syndicated shows. Granted, most of them are from Clear Channel's Real Radio network, but the point is, it's possible. Monsters of the Midday are an example... they're not property of XM, they broadcast out of Florida, and are actually on 6 or 7 actual radio stations, not just XM.
XM SYNDICATION NOW! (or something)

I agree with Reed here and isn't XM a dying breed anyway? Kind of like boarding a sinking ship if you ask me. I know, no one asked.

No No No SillyNutter, XM is beginning to show a profit after recouping the inital losses of launching the satellites and is also gaining listeners everyday.
Ron and Fez on XM152 would fucking ROCK! You could even slot them directly after the Monsters of the Midday.

It has nothing to do with Ron and Fez returning to an NYC radio station.
XM is nationwide satellite radio. What that means is, if you have an XM receiver and a subscription, you can get 101 CD-quality channels anywhere in the country. It's not based on geographic location, like AM or FM (where you would have to be within 50 or so miles of NYC to hear an NYC station) - it's everywhere. You could drive from New York to California and listen to the same station the whole way.
Ron and Fez on XM152 would fucking ROCK! You could even slot them directly after the Monsters of the Midday.
Personally, I don't particularly care for any of the shows on 152 right now.... Monsters, Drew, Love Doctors, Bubba the Love Sponge...... they're all pretty horrible.

infinity is completely against any non-over the airwaves broadcasts. Online or xm. Sorry to say but don't get your hopes up, i don't think it'll happen. But having said that you might as well request it.
Right, but XM carries some syndicated shows.
that might be true, but unfortunately right now, Ron and Fez aren't syndicated. But that will soon change.

i dont understand why they dont do web broadcasts, same sponsors etc. only have it on a subscription basis... so it pays for the bandwidth used.
its not that difficult.

I too dropped these guys a line, and I was impressed with the VERY personal reply I got, a fellow named Charlie Logan wrote a fairly long, topic specific email that was clearly not a form letter. And low and behold, he mentioned he was the PD of the station Ron and Ron were on in the late 80's/early 90's. His quote to me:
Ron and Fez are on our radar here at XM but it will be a while before
they
can make it onto XM due to contractual situations as well as the
economics
of the move.
But we love 'em
So at least there's some love from XM managment! Make it happen Charlie!!!

If Ron and Fez were available on XM, I would get it tommorrow. I suggest a replay format 10-2,7-11 with the monsters in between.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.
Just sent in my request. Who knows, it might work. Ron and Fez in satellite syndication!!!

Bubba the Love Sponge is currently on before the monsters and I bet his fat carcass ain't leaving. There's a bunch of no names on after the Monsters, can't we just clear them out in everything goes well? And WWE fan, no, D&M are NOT on XM.

I've signed onto XM's website and requested Ron and Fez.
I know the chances of XM carrying Ron & Fez are not very good, however, it's another chance to hear them again in NY.
Please don't just dismiss this idea, every avenue must be pursued. The more avenues pursued, the more likely we are to get them back.
Thank you.

Great idea about XM, however, their stocks are dropping, and they are losing money. According to business news they may not survive the next year. Both them and the other sattelite radio, I forget the name. But one things is for sure. RADIO SUCSKS without R&F. Is it just me, or has every station on the dial actually gotten worse since all this happened. I can't even listen to ANYTHING anymore. Die, get in the casket, WNEW! <P>

XM will stay around as long as General Motors is offering it most of their cars. I believe by years end GM is going to offer it on just about thier whole line up of cars.
I got it before last summer and I love it. It will catch on just cable TV. They do have channels that are Ad based plus they have channels like ABC news and Espn radio.
There are plenty of channels that are money makers. Be it for Disney or MTV. What will probably happen if they get into real financial trouble is that they will be bought over by Directv.
There is also Skyfi where you can now have XM in a small boom box type setup.
If they would give a discount for additional subsrcibtions I would have at least another subscribtion on my account.
I will send my request in and see what happends can't hurt. Every little bit helps.

If Ron and Fez were on XM, would they be on without commercials like HBO, or they would still have commercials. I would still take Ron and Fez locally in NY then Ron and Fez syndicated nationally because of the XM costs.
XM Radio has to be the first company that ACCUALLY reads their emails and gets back to you with REAL information

Why would R&F take a paycut and leave a job in market #7 on a major station? In my opinion Sat Radio will eventually take off but now it's similar to the Cable TV industry in its' infancy.
When Sirius and XM get millions of suscribers, well, you get my point.
