ron and fez mentioned on ESPNRadio in NYC

Guys:

I wanted to know if anyone else heard this, but between 6:30 and 6:45 yesterday a caller called up ESPN 1050 am sportstalk radio and said that they were stealing "ron and fez's bit". The DJs repeated R+F and like realized what was going on and backpeddled and said "we don't listen because they were on the same time we are on the air". Was this someone from here? then they said they (r+f) don't deserve the mention again and moved to the next caller. The LOSER CALLER who was one of those loser sports talk callers calling about boxing (yes boxing sports talk) said "they (r+f) don't deserve anything and called the fans "a bunch of losers, anyway i would pay $50 to see tyson and (some boxer)." I wanted to introduce this sad lonely "first time long time" sport caller's bald head with my fist repeatedly. (that don't make me a bad person)

Did anyone else catch this/know about this/actually do this? Also finally - anyone want to see if we start the revolution that way?

If anything the caller was probably talking about the "Who's Cooler" Wednesday segment that they (Wally Mathews and Tom Keegan, or Wally and The Keeg as the show is called) do during the 6:00 hour.

But I've always gotten an Ron & Fez vibe from their show (heard 4-7 every day)as in they'll bring up a topic for a segment, and take calls on that topic only during that segment (or next few segments as the case may be) and so on during the rest of the show, often making up discussions as they go along (i.e. "who is the biggest dissapointment right now in NY sports") even when there is alot of hot topics that they could be talking about. So it gets very "Comedy Pyramidish" sometimes.

Also the show does go a bit on the wacky side with their discussions about various things, often double entrades get out and they both tend to go for locker room humor when it comes to females (even though both are married with children, and Keegan gives off the apperance of being a nice family guy while Wally tends to be a gruff street guy cut from the O&A/Norton type)

Actually I'm surprised they even know who R&F are as they show little intrest in anything other than sports, the latest "sophisticated" pop-culture craze, (Sopranos) usually) or any other radio station other than themselves and WFAN down the dial as they always find some way to trash that station and specifically the Mike and The Mad Dog show.

I just realized, I think I may know why those guys said what they said about R&F (that they were on at the same time and that they don't deserve to be mentioned) they obviously got Ron and Fez confused with Opie and Anthony! They do that all the time with pop culture things, where they'll get the information wrong, or they'll say something out dated or they'll say something that only a casual observer would say. I'll bet thats what happened, the caller said they stole a bit from someone AND someone and they assume its O&A.
