dc to ny...what did R+F say?

heavy thanks for DC giving us a taste of what we want...our buddies. keep up the good work.

A few things not addressed :
did they mention they're off in NY?

Also : did anyone else notice hints in the last few weeks that it may have been happening? from ronnie last week about "we're going to pick and choose (who we take like wonderboy, billy, etc) to move to dc" when he was insulting billy i think..and how they wouldn't take him.
Also, I thought Al Dukes on the show was weird looking back...because as ron has said repeatedly - "he lost the fight" Finally ronnie told one of the R+F babies about smoking green "you think that's going to happen around here anymore? those days are over."

I think this was their only way to say "seeyaa" to NY. I just hope it isn't for a long time.

Looking back i think they knew and couldn't say anything. The sales people (i'm in the industry..a low man but in it) are shipping around playlists of the crap they are playing now and are not telling advertisers what is coming. It is supposed to get the station "buzz" but it really "pissing" me off.

<b><font color=navy><font size=2>They did address their NY fans, but only when a caller phoned and got thru on-air.

A caller "Mike" called them to tell them about this Message Board, and how much the NY Fans were missing them. R&F went into a whole routine about how stupid it was that they weren't given a chance to say goodbye to the NY fans. They tried to make it a comedy bit, but they got their point across, they were pissed. They said how dumb it was, what were the suits afraid they would start f'ing all those responsible.

I did get the impression that R&F weren't shocked by their removal from the NY airwaves. They even commented that if they didn't say f'everyone for the past 5 months, why would they say it Monday Jan. 27th? (if they would of been allowed to get on-air to thank the NY audiences and to say goodbye to us)

Ron closed with saying to send their love to the NY'ers. :-(

"Mike" is me. I called in because, although R&F addressed the fact that they were in a new studio, they didn't say anthing about why they were in a new studio. I'm guessing that they decided not to go into the NEW situation on their own because they figured it was of little interest to their DC listeners, and that most of their NY fans were not in the audience. I just wanted to let them know that they were appreciated and missed.

I can see why Infinity didn't let them do a goodbye show though. It would've turned into listeners calling in and saying f'everyone. Does it suck that we couldn't say goodbye? Yeah, but I can see why they weren't allowed.

I am getting homesick for the Show as well, but keep yer dander up-it may be a matter of time, but hopefully, if there is a God, they have the capacity of returning to the New York airwaves again!!!I am also learning that Corporate Bigwigs work with blinders on sometimes and don't see the same value of something that a listener would appreciate!!!Let's stay positive for now!

I believe you can get in using a cell phone. (I think...)

I did call 866-277-4969 and got through fine. I happened to be in DC at the time, so that's why there wasn't a problem.

The 877 and 866 numbers are regional, therefore you can only get through if you are calling from that area. I think if you used WNEW's 212 number, you would be able to contact ron and fez anywhere, although it is a long distance number.

Seeing as how R&F are no longer on WNEW, I would doubt that you could reach them by calling that WNEW's local number. You may be able to reach R&F by calling the WJFK local number, but that probably goes to the WJFK front desk, and they may or may not be willing to patch you to R&F. <P> <P>

What I ment by "I think if you used WNEW's 212 number, you would be able to contact ron and fez anywhere" was that if R&F were in <b>NYC</b>, you could be in california and call their 212 number and get them, but the 877 number would not work
