you know those water coolers in most offices that have the big clear/blue removable tank above them well some of them have both a cold(blue) and a warm(red) option....Well my question is as follows:
How do they heat up the water so fast to give you hot water when it all comes from the same place?

what makes you think there isnt a resoviour of hot water in the "cooler" - enough for a cup or 2 of hot water and you're getting your hot water from there? Heating that amount electrically prob doesnt take that long up front, then kept hot after that...

i see what you are saying:
but,do you think that is all the hot water you could get (a cup or two) or could you just hold down the nozzle and pour till the cows come home....because i believe you can with the cold???
thanks for responding, albeit like quite a snob, but responding nonetheless

I think it would run out of hot and start pouring cold - try it.

I believe you're correct. There is a fairly small resevoir of hot water in the tank (enough for about 3 cups). When hot water is used, cold water enters the resevoir where it is heated.
