Is it ok for me to hate the French?

Is it just me or are the French really annoying?
I'm not saying this as a big supporter of Bush (though I chow on it from time to time) but I really get the impression that the French by and large are fucking assholes. I hate them, I hate how cowardly and all for themselves they are. It has little to do with a impeding war and more to do with a general observation of how they feel their so elite and more important than anyone. They spit on us and then we're supposed to slurp it up like the ravenous dogs that we are? I don't think so. I hate em, I don't even drink French wine anymore. It's all California baby, all American all the way. They never support us, regardless of who's the President, they never think of anyone but themselves. Is it okay for me to feel this way towards them?

I severely dislike most French people I've ever met, and that's even after I spent two years living in Paris. Not all of them, but a good number...

Mainly I just don't let it bother me since they're so politcally and socially impotent on issues that matter. This is really France's "last gasp" on the international scene (Or we should hope so) and it's a damn good thing, too. They've got way too many domestic problems they need to address before they go around pretending they're a world power...

3. They routinely reject every American request.


They are certainly not our friends. Whether or not to hate them is up to you.

I guess they never really bothered me. I have had many friends that were French and got along fine with them.

I always try and find some good in people. I guess the French have brought us really good cuisine, wine, unbelievably beautiful fashions, their love for romance, and some other good stuff. Some of my favorite authors were French.

When I visited France, I thought it was one of the most beautiful countries I had ever seen.

I've been to Paris and loved it. Everyone was nice to me and didn't mind that I only knew a smattering of the language. I've met a lot of French people in my store and they've all seemed friendly enough, but maybe that's because they're in our country. I just have a hard time categorizing an entire nation and/or race as less worthy in some respect. There are few things that I could care less about than politics. I like people.

i don't know that i know any french people, and i've never been to france, myself. all i know is that we helped them out big time in WWII, and now that we could use some support, they're lining up right behind us to fuck us in our collective american ass. i don't doubt the fact that there are probably some wonderfully nice french people out there, but as a general rule, i say fuck the french. they'd do the same for us

Why doesn't someone just start a thread called "Is it OK for me to hate everyone who is not me?"because i really don't feel the need to ask permission. i think it's clear that the people voicing their feelings have valid reasons for the way they feel, and whether or not you agree with those reasons, to make a blanket statement that the people on the board hate everyone who is not them is both ignorant and ridiculous. read what these people have to say. form your own opinion. but don't be an ass if you disagree.

I don't necessarily hate the French, but they have been big time doves ever since Ho Chi Min sent them packing. I speak French and I like to study the Napoleanic Wars, but other than that, they have done nothing good in the past 50 years.
