As the months have gone by during my stay here in Ronfez.net land, I've discovered that many of you have multiple accounts.

But it took this long for this new thought to cross my mind: I wonder how many times I've had some sort of disagreememt with the SAME person just using their other screen names.

I can just imagine the same rat bastard laughing at me AGREE with one screen name and DISAGREE with their other screen name. I hope you're all having a lot of fun at my expense.

I don't expect anyone to come clean, but I wish you would. I've only had the one account I use for going on 2 years now and I don't have time for another one. Plus, I'm not afraid to say what I really think with this name.

I've noticed that some of the more "argumentitive" posters have similar writing styles. For example, they might use the same phrases repetedly, write in the passive or active voice, misspell the same words, etc.

Of course, I'm a word geek so I notice these things.

Moe, I eluded to this in the argument from the WJFK roster thread. I think some people do it so that they can agree with their own posts (lame) and show support. I mentioned it due to the same reasons that dark hippie mentioned. I'm pretty up front with my views and have only one account. Some others may hide behind other accounts when they want to stir things up and not use their popular/friendly account name. Anytime I argue with a certain account, four brand new accounts pop up to support him.

Can't there be a protocol set up using IP addresses so that those sent on vacation actually serve it and others can't form multiple accounts without dropping there old one from existence.

And how is it that so many new accounts have fancy animated cartoons and creative text below their names. And for the truly paranoid [or just plain nice and stoned] out there, there are computer programs that are used for exactly this. They compare word usage, average length of words, capitalization, unique/rare words, sentnce length, paragraph length...I think originally to study texts that claimed to be Shakespeare's, or text that claim to be bib lical, which is a whole other thread, since no one know who wrote it. It was certainly many different people, and basically screwed with since even before it was all written.

I've never had the same account at the same time, but I have had about 3 accounts in the last year and a half.

* The first was one that I used maybe once, and I forgot the password after a year and set up another one.

* The second one was started around December, and once again was rarely used, until the Iraqi war started and I got caught up in an inane argument in the political section, and basically told one of the mods to go to hell;

* The third was created the same day I was banned by the Mod who didn't like my travel suggestion, and I thought it was pretty obvious that I was the previous dick, but never made an announcement as such - I certainly didn't go in and agree with whatever I said as the other guy (at least I don't hope so! and if I did, I hope it was sarcastic!).

I took the opportunity to take a step back, and not let words on a computer screen by people I had never met create that kind of reaction in me (even if I was never that passionate about it in the 3D world).

And while I have sense gone over board as [KOP] here and there (something I ain't proud of), most of the time I usually get passionate defending Ron and Fez in DC or a point I felt was mis-represented, I've tried to be not as much as a dick.

I really do like what DMM said a few weeks ago about all of us (NY/DC, Right/Left, Sane/Insane, O&A Fan/D&M Fan) are here under the united flag of Ron and Fez (and that's not with the silent "L"), and that's not something that to take lightly.

(Ok...that wasn't verbatum, but he said something close to that, damnit!!)

There are some great people here, and I really doid mean it when I said a month ago that it says a lot about the people here, as well as the impact of the Ron and Fez Show, that they still support the show. I would lay down money (not much...I am broke right now) that there is no other radio show (still on the air!) that has this much devotion from fans that can't even hear them right now.

R&F will be back in New York. It just doesn't make sense for them not to be.

I have never been more than one screename on the board as another person, and I don't intend to. I don't have the time and it doesn't really interest me.

I can say though that originally my screename was Reefdweller but after a weird incident where I was temporarily banned. I changed the name slightly and came back to the board. If you want to know why I was banned, it was because I had a picture in my sigpic which was somewhat risque. I was asked to modify it, which I did. But the account was never reactivated. So a few days later I signed on as reefdwella. And that my friends is the rest of the story.
