Included is some history on the boys, thought you all might be interested in some info from the Florida days. Attached is the last time Ron and Ron were on the air together....it is probably one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever heard in radio. Definitely some bad blood there.

Yes, it's true, Ron Diaz's wife did die from AIDS. Up until that point, they were on top of the world. They had become one of the most popular radio shows in the country. They were syndicated across the state, and in several cities throughout the Southeast. When Diaz's wife got sick, they were in a dark point in their lives, and were heavily involved with drugs. Right around this time Paxson bought the show and wanted to move it to Miami. They flew the boys down to tour their new studios at 610 WIOD, home of legendary show host Neil Rogers. He had the boys on the air, since they were his soon-to be Miami talk lead in. Neil did his usual shtick and ripped the boys. He especially poked fun a Diaz, who looked like a walking zombie, because he was still extremely distraught over his wife's death. Rogers called Diaz a "cigar store Indian" because he said he expressed not emotion during the interview, Ron and Ron's talent coach, was very upset at Rogers for this. A few weeks later, Diaz announced that he would be leaving the show, and never made the move down to Miami. Ron Diaz and Ron Bennington had a big argument on the air about it. After Diaz left, Paxson tried replacing him with a few different talents . One guy was named Billy Hayes, and the other was Sonny Fox, but it didn't work out. It wasn't the same, and the show was eventually canceled sometime around 1996. About a year later, The Monsters of the Midday, who were big fans of Ron and Ron, had Ron Bennington, Fez Whatley, Billy the Phone Freak, Paul O. and Mitchell Walters on the show for a reunion. Ron and Fez explained what happened and announced they would soon get back into radio. Shortly after, Ron and Fez landed Mornings on 93.1 The KRO in Daytona Beach. They rebuilt there show and recruited station employees and interns to characters, similar to what they did in the old days. One of these guys, later became Tuddle, who is now on the Monsters of the Midday. They were on the KRO for about a year and a half, when they were hired by Infinity Broadcasting. They moved the show to WJFK in Washington, DC and later WNEW in NY were they were on late nights. After a few months, they started to get a cult following Eventually they were moved to evenings, where there lead in would be Opie and Anthony. Their show took off. Besides O&A, they had the most popular show on the station. They soon became friends with O&A and that is when Ron and Fez really got noticed. After The Radio Chick was fired, they were moved to midday's for a while, but soon when back to nights when the station brought in Don and Mike. They then went back to nights. They were doing great until a few months ago, when Don and Mike were fired from the station, further battles with O&A. They replaced Don and Mike mid-days, but continued doing there night show as well. This lasted until for a few weeks, when Opie and Anthony got fired. R&F replaced them in Afternoons. Friday, R&F announced they would be moving back to midday's, and that soon, WNEW would be changing formats

So where is Ron Diaz now? Did he ever re-marry? What a fucking sad thing. I didn't know about the AIDS thing.

Talk about cringe radio. That clip is three and a half of the most uncomfortable minutes I've ever heard.

Does anyone have any clips of happy Ron and Ron moments? I'd like to hear how the show progressed to the point it is now.
